i have a jv-2080 but im on the look out for a jv-1080 been told it sounds so much better!!!!

 

I still have my JV1010 with the Spectrasonics Special FX card that gets used regularly, especially for pianos and strings. I have an Integra-7 and even with all the expansions, I still prefer the JV1010, it just has a really nice sound.

 

Have you tried opening them from the relevant SRX plugins?

been told that SR-JV80-96 is a 1-to-1 copy of SR-JV80-18 Latin as a promo only for japaneese market

 

I tried most of those in most of the plugins (JV-1080, JV-5080 & SRX series).
It seems none of them will load.
I just copy / pasted the .bin files into the folder for each (ProgramData\Roland Cloud\<product>).
If they are not compatible, after removing the plugin from the host, the incompatable "*.bin" file will be renamed to "*.bak".
I then tried loading them but get the error mentioned by digitalbilly.
After trying a bunch, I figured they are not made for the plugins (even if the physical expansion cards may also work in the JV-1080, etc).

Has anyone been able to load these in a VSTi?

As for the existing bin files, you have to open them in a hex editor, sorry can't find the tutorial right now :/

 

All the bins 01 to 19 are converted and covered by the existing officially released plugins plus a non-official modded Dance Trax plugin. The name of the release is "Roland SRX serie modded with original sounds" on sister site.

As for converting those bins (at boxcom link) in vst-readable bins, someone mentioned changing the name inside the bin file with a hex editor. But the box bins look very different compared to vst bins, I am not sure it will work.

So if anyone manages to covert 96, 97 and 99, do share how.
Also once the box bin is converted into a vst bin format, you must find out which plugin can load it, because the compatibility in volumes 01-16 is split among SRX Dance Trax, SRX Dance Trax modded, SRX Orchestra, SRX Keyboards and SRX World (they each open a handful of banks, and together they cover all from 01 to 19)
