Is it true that R2R releases have lower CPU usage? How big of a difference is it? For that reason alone I can go R2R

Checked out Salt, the best Acustica has to offer, and, um, it's almost okay? I expected worse.
It's a tone-shaping three-band track EQ with slight saturation akin to TDR VOS SlickEQ or Pulsar Modular Sweet Spot (I know they call it "mastering" EQ, they can sod off, it's a track one), and it, um, does its job? Until you push it a little, and then the familliar digital shittiness comes through again.
All the preamps are dirty, easily driven into digital distortion and aliasing, even with 8x oversampling. The ZL version has 11 ms of latency, the regular one has around 29. It takes up 5% of my admittedly not a very modern CPU just by being on an empty track. The GUI is responsive right until it's not, and frequently "refreshes" itself for no observable reason. The "Trim" aka Input knob does nothing when you turn it into negatives, can't compensate for eager boosts with it.
But hey, the filters itself do their job allright. If you don't push it, it can be a functional tool. Frankly, if the fucking Amber were the only EQ I've ever known, this one would've blown my socks off. Unfortunately for Giancarlo, I know SlickEQ.

It does not hold a candle to its competition. More CPU for less sound quality, less flexibility and small irritating issues.

Also tried Space Control and, what do I even say.

    In Hardwell's own words:
"I've never seen Raising Jake Studios SideMinder. Who are these losers anyway? Bet their interface doesn't even suck."

as far as i know, the trim aka input knob is there to adjust the level of harmonics.

It's a compensated input gain. And when I boost the low shelf for 6 dB and trim the input by 18, the amount of farting the plug produces doesn't change.
However when I boost the input by 24 without touching anything else, the amount of farting increases accordingly.
And I say farting because it's not a pleasant overdrive, it's inharmonic bollocks even on simple sounds like a bass drum.

    That's some awesome fanmanagement. :hahaha:
About the same stupidity level as preventing people getting on your website if they register cracked products on your disk. :drunks:
They will surely buy after trying then.

SO, I'm kind of an AA fanboy, I've spent nearly 1.5k on their plugins. Ask me questions.

The main problem with these plugins are random crashes. Every now and then they crash for no reason. Both Legit and R2R ones. With Salt it crashed while I was removing an instance. Afterwards I tried to replicate it many times, but it didn't crash.

If they're like me, they probaby waiting to see all of their legit plugin in R2R version before trying them. Not sure we want to risk to be ban before being sure to have a "back up" plan thanks to R2R :)

What's your monthly discount ? I'm at 20%, but I'm curious to see how much we can get with that much spend :)

As much as I like AA product, the way they manage those kind of "crisis" is a disaster. Without R2R cracking Acustica products some 10 years ago, I would never have bought any of their product later (and same for 90% of what I own from other brands).
Surely in a world without any warez scene I would probably use the legal "try before buy" method, but that's not the world we're living in (and I would probably not doing music professionally now without that illegal part of the software industry)

I deleted aquarius on the first day and moved to R2Red side :)
    They're more credible than Giancarlo.

It seems like this will be a long undertaking and I bet a lot of it is monotonous/time-consuming so the releases will likely drip out slowly might be better than a massive dump all at once anyway.

I'm sure it's probably a low priority if they're even considering it at all, but I hope older versions of the plugins eventually get released. One of the worst things about about Acustica plugins IMO is the total disregard for backwards compatibility. adding a couple new preamps and updated meters shouldn't require an entire new suite of plugins. If the same models sound slightly different in an update it's likely an improvement anyway.

Currently it's a nightmare requiring for users requiring them to keep Gold v1-5, GoldComp v1-5, GoldPre v1-5, GoldEQ v1-5 etc. installed (then double the # of plugins again for the ZL versions) if they want to ensure existing projects will load, and that's just for a single product! Much better to include backwards compatibility within the same plugin (it's not like they're worried about bloated install files!)

If only the latest update of a product is released many users with remain forever shackled with Aquarius bloat and not be able to use any of the R2R releases if they need the older versions for compatibility. Hopefully they find a solution for the home-calling with a patched version of Aquarius or something...

Just by your description of how you're using the plugins, show that you have absolutely no clue how these work. We're glad you've shown your ignorance, now we can completely ignore your opinion :)

Coming from someone who doesn't even use Acqua's btw. Edit: oh wait I use Ash of course. Still though.
