You're right. I believe they've already confirmed the release is expected to be February/March 2024. I'm sure I've seen it in one of the YouTube videos about Live 12.

No true midi retrospective midi record is a major missing feature.

Especially for a keyboard player that composes songs by actually playing, not drawing in notes with a mouse. I find myself using Cubase for quick midi ideas, playing lengthy passages into that, then any good ideas I export out as midi. But this should be handled in Ableton by now, it's 2023!

 

Whoever decided that double click to draw a note is better than a single in Live at Ableton, I want to give a solid double punch in his face. He deserves it. What an idiot!!!

Uhm what? That's a lot of aggression. You can single click in draw mode to draw a note or what am I missing? (In Live 12 it's also possible to just temporary activate draw mode with holding B for a few seconds)

 

still has that white menu bar at the top why is that still something they cant change on windows

 

This has been available in Live since 2018. And it is not necessary to export anything.

Want to hear something funny? I`ve been using Live since version 4 and I thought I know a thing or two about that software, but apparently I don't. I record one long ass midi track with all the takes and then cut the "good" parts out. Meanwhile the Midi capture was one (1) click away right in front of me. I have the manual on the desktop for so long it will leave a spot when I ever delete it. It's so funny to me how my own ignorance comes back to me like a boomerang. I could have taken 10 sec out of my day to actually look that up, but instead went with my assumptions. I have also only recently found out what MPE is. I thought it was something for the Push device and called it a day. Brains are tricky, man.

 

coming from fl studio i understand him. it's a bit of a hassle to get used to it
