Hi guys as it says in the title, I am trying to use the search tool on the sister site. Everytime I search for something, it displays 300 hundred results and 10 pages everytime. I can't go further back than page 10.
Is there a way around this please. I am finding it very frustrating. I am the not the most literate when it comes to these sorts of things so any help will be so much appreciated...Thank you

 

you could try using duck duck go to search, but without knowing exactly what you're looking for I would suggest putting more keywords in to lower search results, or use advanced search to only look in the area you're interested in.

so if you're looking for a red bouncy ball instead of just ball type red bouncy ball, and make the advanced search only look in the toy section. you get my drift

 

Just looking at testing r2r releases my friend, nothing fancy. I haven't been online for 3 years so I'm catching up with all the new releases. Do you know of anyway to make more pages appear? Or anyone for that matter!

Also the duck duck go search doesn't put the posts in order. I was hoping to browse from oldest to newest but with only 10 pages showing I can only go so far back. Who mods the sister site so I can request they improve the search function just a little?

You may be on to something. Does anybody know all the main r2r posters? i.e funtime & decibelle? Any more would be appreciated this is my best option thus far (any sister site mods, you know what to do)

I have found the search sometimes doesn't reveal all results, and I am not sure how the variables work, so I will sometimes use Duck Duck GO,too.
Sometimes i just use Google and restrict the results to whatever website desired.
For example, to search just on this website: add "site:audiosex.pro"
Use the same method to search for sister site stuff.

But ...I am not sure how to get Google to sort results by newest first .
As far as I can find there is no way. That seems pretty stupid.

 

It's not stupid it's common sense. I want to see what's been released in the past few years i've been unwell, so it makes sense to start where i left off and work my way forward. Stupid is having a search engine that only goes back ten pages when there are thousands!

Please @SAiNT can you improve the search engine efficiency showing all results? About server side I can't get how a bad programmed engine can't handle that and going overload. Do you mean the search engine is so bad that even if there is only one result it compute 30x10 pages?

 

It's not just returning a text result like Google. It's fetching those ten pages, plus all the images which are pulled from all those various posts. Now, imagine the results were allowed to be unlimited, and requests not rate-limited. Also, there is the advanced search option.

So either you guys are really not trying to limit search results, or you are hoping to crawl the entire site looking for generic search terms like "samples". (just as an example). There is even an alternative search engine suggested and right on the same page.

You are requesting work and website changes, to accommodate users who would rather take the easy way of doing things. If this was difficult or necessary, this topic would come up every other day.

 

Sorry but it sounds wrong to me, that search engine should scan only post titles and return an array with all post numbers that include that specific keyword in the title only. A simple integer one dimensional array would be enough, its size should not be difficult to handle by a server.

Imagine you want to search for all releases from a specific team: MOCHA, R2R or whatever from the beginning, that you can't do it with duck search, well you can do it but you don't have the beauty of post previews (titles, images, descriptions, comments etc in full AZ style).

Now that unfortunately upawg is offline (Rip) it is even more useful.

Maybe i have a better solution for you.

using the telegram messenger:

-> search and join the sister sites telegram channel. (easy to find)

now you have two options:
1. use the telegram search: in the channel press CRTL+F to start a search on the channel
-OR-
2. export chat history to search locally. howto as follows:
-> within the channel -> click on the channel title (top bar) -> the "channel information" popup/window opens.
-> in the "channel information" click on the options button (the "3 dots" in the top-right corner).
-> select "export chat history" -> the "Chat export settings" popup/window opens
-> in the "Chat export settings" do the following:
---> unselect all checkboxes
---> crank up the size limit (propably doesnt matter anyway)
---> select a Format: HTML or JSON
---> choose a Path: change if you want
---> select dates: From: the oldest message, to: present
-> Click: Export

In case you selected HTML as Format:
You will find about 10 .html files containing everything from 2017-07-10 up to Today in the selected Path.
Now you have a local copy and can search it more flexible. maybe even consider merging the files into one.

What i mean is that it is stupid of Google to not have some option to sort by date (newest first / oldest first).
You can do that with results in other search tools, but it seems Google did not included that.

Oh, I understand a server can handle more than 10 search results returned from query; what I was saying is that it's like that because someone wanted it that way. You can do that on that "other" copycat site with all the annoying ads and adblocker blockers, etc and it will show hundreds of pages of results you can trawl through. But you can more easily look at a torrent tracker, which will be close to 100% text.

 

I didn't find it so easy ... I looked at the FAQ and other menu items but didn't see it.
So I did a search for "Telegram" ... but got no result.But i found it just using Google

I downloaded the chat and got a 154 Meg json that seems to go back to August of 2017.
Seems like a good way...thanks

No problem like that it is more then enough, nerds like to do nerdy things to find an excuse to not play music with all software piled in years.
