I like the new gui, I just don't think the update is worth 100€. It's more like a 12.5 update, so 50€ would be ok with me

Has a major point release for any DAW ever been a nearly full UI refresh?

Its fine. We all had to get used to it in the beginning, no reason you can't get used to it again.

I'm a Studio One power user. To me, Studio One was always just a newer, more user friendly version of Cubase. And now Cubase is starting to look more and more like Studio One to me. Maybe it's just me. It's probably just me.
Makes sense. Studio One was originally developed by former Steinberg employees.
I do like some of the features. The EQ on every track on the mixer is nice. The new midi features actually make working with midi easier.
I'm tempted to use that crossgrade option.

Would say the GUI is an improvement, and some nice features are added. But as a whole, I really prefer Studio One, which IMO still has the edge in workflow and GUI.

It was inevitable and yes it looks better.
Minimalism in UI is always good thing, unless you want to be distracted intentionally.

It's "okay". Still room for improvement. The colors can be somewhat distracting. Prefer a more neutral theme (toned down colors).

Theme theme & workflow brings to mind Reaper & Samplitude Pro X. Possible a little Studio One Pro as well.

I was an Ableton user (and still am a tad) for electronic 4/4 type of stuff and a Cubase use for more linear and live stuff, as well as for mixing stems from Ableton and so on (I just absolutely hate the mixing experience in Ableton). I've recently migrated to Studio One as it seems to be a balance between Ableton and Cubase with things like patterns as well as a proper mixing experience.

I have to say though, the Cubase 13 update has teased me a tad to have a look as I think there's some nice GUI updates, even in small little barely noticable things. For example, when in the MixConsole, the track name now appears at the bottom and the top just above the plugins list; such a simple update but made me realise how something like this is needed in Studio One.

It's okay but I'm not paying 100€ for a GUI update and some plugins I don't need anyway. No major features have been added.

As you may see in a LOT of recent releases, there is LESS AND LESS new features.
Largo 2 being the WORST : they updated only GUI and formant filters ... taking YEARS for that.

It seems we are cashcows and devs are not paid anymore.
    But commercials are ...
