All i know is their website saying they have no jobs to offer at the moment.

Yeah, which makes me a bit sad, and this does not happen often to me regarding the software industry. :bleh: :dunno:

I really would like to support these guys, in case they have a proper product, maybe because i never bought a sequencer, for none was multifaceted enough yet or simply wasn't the tool i deeply fell in love with, not perfect enough and most of them quite overpriced.

So maybe this time they will nail it. Price-wise they already did.

The other thing is, there is no need to be sad, since they have included piracy into their business model. Very forward thinking. They decided against any invasive protection schemes from the beginning, which is another BIG PLUS.

So yeah it may appear @scene soon, but they are prepared for that.

The only way to stop piracy is, to CP the shit out of it, which they won't, or offer software as permanent SERVICE, not as manufactured package, and i guess they will service-fy their product when they include the collaborative features with v2.0, since this one requires network access... ;)

Though I do have my share of issues with Cubase and I could care less about loyalty to a brand name, Cubase is one of the more powerful DAWs on the market. Yes the MDI interface is lacking, yes it could use some live features to elicit more experimentation but show me a perfect DAW. They don't exist because in the end they all suck for one reason or other. Perhaps Bitwig will be as amazing as they talked about for years, perhaps not. Time will tell.

    Sandboxed VST's
Haha, so sandboxed VST's, I'm really impressed. Is that how they are going to market their product? ;)
Thats all good, but... seriosly... WHY do you have bad cracked/bad programmed VST plugins in your DAW!? And why dont you use autosave and save to new file?
I have installed and tested thousands (yes, really) of VST plugins during the past 15 years. The ones who crash I uninstall IMMEDIATELLY.
Cubase 6.5 and 7.5 never crashes and neither do my plugins, neither originals or good cracked.
Will this feature make me change DAW? Hell NO!

    Multipurpose tracks
This feature MAY be good thing but also maybe a BAD thing. It really depends on how they have made it. Wait and see.
Will this feature make me change DAW? Ehm, no. It's different yes - but not necessarily better than using Folders and/or Groups in Cubase for example.

    Bounce-In-Place
So.. Studio One already has that. And a really good one too. Cubase will probably have it by next release because of the many users requested it.
Yuu can do macros in Cubase! So you can make a macro that bounces with two clicks.
Is it a nice feature though? Hell yes. Will this feature make me change DAW? No. Other features are more important and crucial for your making music.

    Modulating plugins
You can do this using other VST tools already, but OK. It may be really cool IF you can easily modulate all parametres of all plugins to a macro - which byitself controlled by user automation or LFO/Envelopes or whatever.
Is it a nice feature? Might be awesome. Will this feature make me change DAW? NO!

Will I try and test Bitwig? Absolutely! NO!
If Bitwig delivers, would these features TOGETHER want to make me change DAW...?

But we are talking a whole new DAW. New bugs. ALOT of missing features compared to other DAWs. Look at StudioOne, version 2.x is still not very stable - and it's pretty CPU heavy and slow compared to Cubase.

No point on starting a cry war for superiority on daws.

Just about the sandboxes. There's time you loAd a heavy plugin and might crash your system/daw. I doubt everyone is immune of this and it's a nice feature.

They are probably not hiring cause they haven't make any sales yet lol

    Oh by the way.

Almost the majority of users of cubase/sonar/pro tools/logic won't really make the jump to bitwig.
It's mostly ableton people that share a similar type of workflow.

    That's just my logic.

Thanks whoever consolidate my posts. I was on my phone :X

Especially those cry babies who never get their highly important wishes fulfilled by Ableton. :bleh:

All discussions concerning the pros and cons of Bitwig are quite useless unless the product is out and can be thorougly tested (like their beta ) , all else is just marketing, I surely won't fall for that... *no*

I was drolling when they show the delay/lfo fx thingy~

I wish they would of show a few 3rd party plugins.

Amazing video. Even though some of this features already on their youtube channel.

Haha, great! A DAW primarly focussing on Sound Design, that's an approach true to digitalism.

Boy, usually am pretty resistant against hype and fanboyance, in fact i despise both.

But when i heard those realtime experimental sounds crawling through the air, and saw the modular-like design which allows for tweaking right down at the genetic level of DSP, i fell in love even more...

    key points of interest are:

    - is it made by germans?

    - is the stretch engine like serato's or at least near that?

    - can it be patched by CHAOS?

Whatever you say, once its released we all be over it like flies on fresh shit...cant wait *yes*

Bitwig looks great and promising on promo, but I'm always skeptic with that kind of stuff... Almost everytime it's a big disapoitment ! :) Maybe because of it's unreacheable now.

2008 I buy M-audio card just for the reason I use PT7.4 and the truth is I never use it :) because I'm using cubase 3 sx. Also I buy Korg rhythm machine and never use it, because I found best prodcutivity with FXPansion Guru that time.

If you look at Izotope new product (for drums), nice look but nothing special in common... still uTonic is better.

My only wish is have enough time and have just 5 cat's life for using this stuff I have already :)

Bitwig intro price is 400. Full price is going to be higher. And if dongled even higher
But if they tend to push ppl for live use, a dongle can be a problem. Because no one wants to loose it or break it (even if there are solutions).

As long as you don't expect anything (like me), everything given to you is welcome :mates:

This is exactly what I'll be waiting for haha...
One of the major things we don't want is
    unnecessary crash downs, right? :D

    So,
I heard a lot about this ableton/logic hybrid here at nyc.
Musicians here that taste (and test) the beta are raving about it all day long.

I'm @ Dubspot currently (and one of the wrote the manual) and here it's really hyped.

What do you think? Best of all worlds?

    Nope. Not all worlds...
I think there's one world left: FL Studio (IMHO  )
