This is a quick mix I did of Fool's Gold by Sunday Muse in Studio One, using only stock plugins. Any feedback will be much appreciated.

 

I think overall it's a nice mix, stereo imaging is decent, but when the snare kicks in, it sounds muffled or buried. I would definitely try to bring up the highs on the drums without overshadowing the present frequencies in the vocals, which may be one of the reasons you chose to bury the drums. Or maybe it is the nature of the material you're working with. All I can say is that as soon as the snare hits, my ears tell me something is off. I hope you find my feedback helpful. Good luck.

 

Thank you for the excellent feedback. I did not touch the snares much and on a fresh listen, they do sound very muffled and dark, and not very much like a snare. I will try and put more work on those in the next iteration of the mix.
