Seems crazy good, judging from the demos and all... The pedal is under 400 too. What is this company anyway?

Tonocracy - Full Version: $149 (plus applicable taxes)

 

There pedals cost 400$ exactly, not under.
Also they don't use the Plugin technology, which would be great.

 

Haha, I'd say AMPLI-FIRE BOX MK II for 399,95 $ is still under 400, no?

 

It's quite good. The free version doesn't allow you to use their schematic-modelled amps (only in demo mode with noise), but you can access up to twenty 3rd party captures (as in NAM captures and similar), which are really good sounding.

The cabinets, reverbs and other effects can be accessed without a paid license as far as I can see.

 

What pedal? AFAIU, this is a plugin. If you are talking about Atomic's amp sim pedals - like the Ampli-fire, Bass Box etc - they don't have anything to do with the Tonocracy software. The Ampli-fire line of products have been available for at least 10 years already.

 

Tonocracy went free...According to their facebook, the original limited free version was so horrid to use that it scared away customers (thank you Genome) .

And also free.
Also the recent videos on YT are promising that it's constantly evolving.

I'm debating whether to use NAM or use Tonocracy with NAM amps.

 

Tonocracy free is the way to go, each component has additional eq, preamps unlike most pedal plugins, so each has the built up character of over driving the component like an amp, but the built in fx are cheesy, the point of this is you load nam profiles with or with out IRS cause you have the option to create a signal chain identical to helix, but with Nam which means the sky is the limit, and unlike NAM you get the additional amplification behaviour and split stereo cabs etc
