Dude, I would personally stop demoing multiple DAWs. Instead of blind trying every one, think about what is that you want a DAW to do, then read through the features of each one to see which one offers you what it is exactly that you are looking for.

I've been through multiple DAWs to see which one works best for. Which one does what I want it to do.

This is a very difficult question to answer, as each of us have our own preference.

I feel that this is a journey that you're going to have to take on your own. I could easily rattle off the best selling points for the DAW that I use, and so can everyone that uses something different to what I use.

Yeah, the best advice that I can give you is look for a DAW that suits you. There is no "best" DAW. I could easily tell you that what I use is the best, but I know that it's not for everyone.

Research and enjoy the process of elimination.

I'm sorry that I can't be much more help than that.

Well I figured since it's so subjective, and chances are most of us have not tried to specifically comp in every DAW, maybe the op can at least get some sort of average of what people use in general. In the end, explanations or not, OP is just going to have to try them him/herself. At the very least, and maybe more useful, watch some videos of comping in action for several DAWs.

I have used Pro Tools, Cubase and Logic. Easiest comping was on Logic. It was hard to understand the workflow at first. But after figured out how things work in Logic, it is easiest and fastest.

actually I liked how comping already worked in earlier Reaper 5/6 versions,
the new v7 track lanes do not seem always better for our use cases,

    speaking of "assembling"...
    1) who has time for that, seriously? just record a better take and be done with it
    2) for arranging, just make (whole) loops, in Ableton-like workflow

New Comping System in the new Reaper V7, very well explained by my Hero Kenny,
who makes outstanding Reaper tutorials on Youtube:

Insanely good Comping features, if you ask me.

    Kind Regards.
