Here is what i can't stand GUI wise :


Especially for 999 bucks

Square everything, ugly fonts, ugly buttons, small settings icons everywhere... i don't even want to TEST it.

 

now i've seen it all. LolComp is in an entirely category all by itself

 

I work with my EARS not my EYES when i do audio stuff so i dont care if the gui is ugly or even if it has NO GUI AT ALL in fact i prefer NO GUI i do fine with some sliders
If you work with your EYES when you do audio and you MUST have a nice and shiny GUI you surely havent got a good musical ear period

 

you spend a lot of times looking at the screen. like it or not, your eyes are going to get strained, so i believe graphical part is also important, if you have something you can read easily, especially labels of things, knobs, presets, sliders, etc. etc. graphical interface has its part

I don't mind the GUI. As long as it doesn't get in the way of getting stuff done I don't mind most aesthetic choices. If the UI can be stripped back to the generic DAW knobs or sliders - even better (not the case here, but).

When you get more than 10 settings, no GUI is not an option.

 

I'm assuming I'm in a circlejerk thread, but I like it, it's modern and appeals to the modern producer.

 

Good to see OhmForce slowly revamping their plugins. I still use the old ones now as they SOUND great but they're very small GUIs so in desperate need of updating. Nothing wrong with this one in my opinion.

I don't think I'd be giving Sausage Fattener a 10/10 personally and I think you're being unkind to Voxengo giving them 1/10..

You can always switch to generic GUI, if the graphics spoil your ears. At least in Cubase, probably other DAW too

I will not touch this kind of plugins by any stretch of mind.
It is TOTALLY unusable : colors, separation ...

Problem is NOT ppl making horrible GUI ... it is WHO will use it ?

On my side, i don't care about those obscure plugins with horrible GUI.

i haven t checked the latest version, but i remember that BFD inerface was far uglier than this one, which is not so bad

i'd rather a deliberately bad gui than no gui. that is a recipe for having 10 plugins on the screen and no idea what they are even doing. With the 80's retro thing going on now, there is a limit to that also. Skip the Neon.

the ones I really do not like are the ones designed by people who have some vendetta against "Menu diving". I understand you should have quick access to most parameters, but there is a way of doing so without every single one on the front panel of the plugin. Like Dexed. I do not care what it sounds like; there is close to zero chance of me using it. I will figure out something else to use, even if that option is not free. I very rarely like anything "Freeware" enough to use it. If you code something yourself, and do not believe you did a good enough job to have the balls to ask for some money for it; that is a very poor review of your own work. No thanks.

I think this is bad enough I would delete it, if it didn't start quickly belching out some gold records. (this is an exaggeration).

It's their product, let them do what they want with it. Just like someone is welcome to not download it. That's not a reason for someone to go make a thread about how ugly it is though either. But damn, that is really bad indeed.

IMO, the most ugly plugins are... the gold medal to... MeldaProduction.
Silver medal goes to Voxengo.
Bronze goes to both Synth1 and Dexed (despite they're free plugins).

Special mentions to Ableton Live and Avid Protools, both are hideous.

@clone i agree about the glitchmachine gui, i'm too stoned to even begin to start wanting to figure it out. i have meldas multianalyzer,it looks ok if a little boring on my screen.... not that i need an anime girl on a frequency analyzer. i wonder if you had VR if you could have a bunch of plugins hovering around you like a virtual studio- that'd be cool.
