Had a chance to beta test this for several weeks, it really is an awesome plugin and probably one of the most creative ed mod plugins on the market. Not as deep as something like UVI Shade, but in terms of ease of use and results, its phenomenal. Definitely worth checking out.

For me its creating custom modulations that are both usable and sound musical. I typically use UVI Shade for this type of work, specifically for wah type effects and filter sweeps, but Mod EQ 1 makes it easier to do so quickly and the results are great. I particularly like the randomization feature which comes up with some pretty cool happy accidents and even nice starting points for creating your own custom modulations. Thats definitely one feature I wish was available in Shade, but that plugin is way deeper so understandably I'm sure it would be considerably more difficult to implement.

Also Dan is a pretty solid dude. I was fortunate enough to beta test both Halo and Mod EQ and I really like the way he thinks about vst design. His plugins are intuitive and sound excellent, even if they lean more towards bass-centric genres.

Yes, it seems quite interesting. On which instrument / sounds do you use it?

Atmospheric sounds mostly. You can make some really beautiful evolving pads with it. You can add some really nice rhythmic modulation within specific frequency bands while simultaneously using a separate band for broader sweeps. Add a little delay and reverb, and youre in pad heaven. Its also great for bass and guitar too, really just about anything you want to add movement to.
