Arturia presets - How to install?

Discussion in 'Software' started by Vincent Price, Oct 13, 2023.

  1. Hello

    I recently downloaded some presets from Reverb for Arturia and I am not exactly sure how to install them...There are some for DX7, Arp 2600 and also Emulation II

    The DX7 presets have the format .dx7x and the ARP 2600 has the format arpx but the Emulation II presets have the format aupreset

    Can anyone help me and let me know how to install these?

    Thanks

    How to import arturia presets;
    1. Open the concerned plugin.
    2. Click on the burger menu button on the upper left.
    3. Click the Import button.
    4. Select your preset file to be imported.
    5. The preset/Bank is now available in your preset browser.

    .aupresets are usually for MacOS and are often for older plugins. Sonnox uses these for the 32 bit versions of Oxford plugins. In those cases you will usually find the location in /Library/Audio/Presets/Developer Name/ so you can dump them all in there at the same time.

    AU is Audio Unit, Apple's plugin format. You should mention details about your system's OS, DAW, plugin bundle you may have installed, and for legit freeware things you could include a link to them. These might not work for you at all.

    Most of the time you can add presets and banks from the interfaces of whatever plugin, and it's better if you want to do them one at a time or selectively to save space. Usually on Mac, the directory structure is so simple and a central location where you can just dump everything in the correct locations all at once, instead of one by one. Sometimes you go to the plugin that "selective way", and you can easily figure out what directory/path the plugin is looking at for it's presets. If you press Command + Up Arrow key, it will move up 1 level in the directory tree, or right click + "Get info" on any of the preset files will show the location you want to add them to. You close and reload the plugin in your daw and the newly added presets will be there. :)

    Have you installed the VR Arturia preset collection? I don't think you could ever run out of presets with those installed.
