That's because they felt that in origin the song was a bit slow and they decided to increase tempo, and as you know, at the time there were not fancy time/pitch shifting devices, so that's it, increase tape speed.

But no universe resonance frequency conspiracy bs, just "mixing trick".

 

You can selectively change pitch/speed by editing, or by using players that have that functionality (like SoundTouch DSP for foobar and Pacemaker for Winamp).
Changing pitch globally, no matter the pitch of an actual recording, with most pitches already being wrong and differing greatly, makes no sense.
