Why do you use cracked plugins?

Why do you use cracked plugins?

  1. It's a hobby for me. I don't make money from it - I don't spend money on it.

    Why I use cracked plugins

    1. Reseach: I LOVE cracked plugs for the ability to demo the entire feature set without limitations. I have made many a good and bad purchase this way.

    2. iLok/Pace: I was amazed that some plugs I decided to try use iLok. As a privacy minded nutjob, I had a hard time in engineering school with Pro Tools needing a constant running internet in background...to create. WTF are they checking for the entire session? As a result, I will not purchase any product needing iLok/Pace, ect.

    I use PT at work and use not Pro Tools at home/travel.

    3. Economic Factors: Because sh*t is dam near free, I'm semi-broke, and I can live with the stigma/shame just fine. Plus, buying coffee for devs is far cheaper than real life.

    4. Stuff just loads faster than the retail product in some cases bro. No weird glitches requiring customer service, no freaky messages popping up...stuff just works (For me), very rarely it does not. But, at these prices...

    Them witches are no joke.

    When my last computer crashed and I got a new one, I went to download the PA plugs I bought and found they'd added many more to my download list.
    Emailed them and they said it was alright.
    When I bought my Tonex pedal they advertised the free Tonex software and Amplitube, but the product manager also allowed numerous other titles free.
    Don't think I'll have to use cracked software again with all the sales and free giveaways.
