I was almost turning non-binary but the 432hz music cured me. P3nis grew some inches. Life is good. You should try it.

In (non-tweaked) reproduction of recorded analogue music you can get a pitch of A=440Hz very rarely.
When remastering vintage tracks I always check the pitch (so I've checked more than a thousand). And it's regularly higher (except when my template is already digitized and digitizing crew engineers did change the pitch). So it will always be the case if you use directly a master tape or a record for playback on analogue gear.
With approx. hundred years old 78 rpm recordings the tone 'A' can be higher for more than +3% [equals to about a quarter-tone]. For 1980s records it's +1.3% typically. The rule is, the older the recording the more incorrect pitch is. The same is with tempo, of course.
So setting a fixed pitch shift for music reproduction of analogue sources (or digital - digitized from analogue sources) is useless.

This is some serious audiophool stuff. It reminds me of the audiophile pebbles that you tape to your interconnects. Or the green marker that's used on the edges of CDs. Or the solution you rub onto the top of your op-amps. These people are as serious about it as the OP.

actually that was the standard in music before the industry change it to 44100hz ....I make my reshearch about it 2 years ago

No, he's turning down the pitch aka replay rate as he describes in his first post ->
Furthermore, 43800Hz samplerate is not an option in the software.

And what should be the difference? Sure, the sample rate reported to software is still 44100, so everything is slowed and pitched down a bit. It's the same as if you would sync to an external clock thats at 43800.

This option is only available if the clock is set to internal as master and affects the whole audio system including converters synced by ADAT connection.

Firstly, that you simply can't dial in 43800Hz SR. Secondly a different SR doesn't pitch down or up all audio sources while a different pitch does.

Well, the point being one way or other he's slowing his sample rate down slightly to get a lower pitched playback. That's the bit I was missing initially. I'm not caught up in the nits of exactly by which method he accomplished it :winker: The 43800 number is valid, not 438.

And what's a "different pitch" without any sample rate conversion? Changing system clock is nothing more than changing the speed of a tape recorder. Everything gets slower or faster AND lower or higher in pitch at the same time.

BUT algorithms like EQs and soft synths get the sample rate from the DAW and use this as a reference for their computing. For example in a project running at 44100 an EQ tuned to 1000Hz is exactly at 1000Hz.

Turning down the whole clock of the audio system makes everything slower and lower in pitch AND tunes all sample rate dependent algorithms according to this.

So in this example (43800 instead of 44100) a 1000 Hz sine wave recorded at 44100 plays back as 993 Hz AND a 1000 Hz EQ also is tuned exactly the same way to 993 Hz.

In the end it doesn't affect offline rendered prerecorded material in any way. You just listen to it at a different speed and so also pitch.

But it can be useful if you have any acoustic instrument which isn't tuned to the rest of your recording. For example, many years ago we had to record a vintage upright piano the artist liked a lot, but it was tuned to about A=436Hz and the piano tuner said he can't pull it up to A=440Hz without risking mechanical damage. So clocking down the interface to match the tune of the piano was the way to go. Just like the speed/pitch control on multitrack tape recorders back in the analog days.

440 is the tuning of God
432 is the tuning of Satan
for all you sinners, here's 10 hours of 440 orchestra tuning:

This is the best argument for downtuning so far

That’s what happens when you tune in 432 (don’t try this at home):

im curious, so im not missing something. to me its the most lame sterile prolongations of nothing. what is it this guy in the video rambling about? The "satan" video at least had some interesting tonality, for a 20 seconds at least...

You call it sterile and i agree, but the 440 vs 432hz topic is more than that: I'll call it insulting. There are artists who spend their lives, creativity and talent to try reaching a tune with the universe, this is done using their emotion, interpretation, virtuosity, sound design, chord progression, perfect mixing, etc … you wanna vibe with the universe? You will have to work hard. And then some random smartass arrives, saying that it was enough to lower the tuning by a few hertz to get the same result: I fart in 432 and I'm in tune with the universe, as simple as that. This discussion of tuning is immensely offensive towards all artists, their effort, and music in general. Actually, the frequency of 440hz was assigned to have an international standardized pitch between orchestras, it has nothing to do with the content of the music nor its artistic message

Using a mixture of 438, 432, 440, 444, 666 as base frequency can make sterile digital vsts come to life. Just saying...
