Meanwhile, Defender is STILL turning itself back on, it's like Jason. It is eating keygens and breaking software all over the place.

 

There is a part of me that still gets excited (after all these years and gained xperience) when I see this "Optimizing your Pc for Audio" posts. But I know better now. And while I still have a lot to learn, the second I saw his "setting the scheduling to "Background" I closed the video. Experience is beautiful.

 

Those Threads... i guess thats a hobby for some of you guys? Keep "tweaking" the system over and over? What about just making music? But you have fun doin that, go for it.

Just keep your system clean and you will have no problems at all. Im on Win11 (latest Update) i dont have any latency problems at all AND im using a RTX 3070 graphics card.

But again for me it looks like some of you guys kinda use this "how to tweak my pc" threads just to avoid make music. I upgraded my PC around 2 years ago. I had a i7 7700k, 16 GB Ram. On that everything runs smooth. At the end of an project there was sometimes to much going on so i had to freeze some tracks to keep it running. But thats normal.
Now im on a i9 12900k, 32GB DDR5 and im running it with the E-Cores. No latency problems, Crackling sounds or whatever.

It does make sense, but I haven't noticed any difference on Win11 Enterprise. The only thing that was notable and could be expressed in numbers was removing Windows Defender and network services.

 

My first optimization is ... using Intel CPU only.
Because i already had tons of problems with AMD years ago, and several builds.

Do AMD users will agree ?
Not, of course

My build was made for AUDIO only.
I opted for single core perf.

And more i will not tell here.

First thing is BUILD.
Everything else is just cherry on cake.

 

Now I have screen damage.

 

For these extreme cases when the dam things simply will not die use the following to shut them up...

identify the responsible exe or dll - in win10 these are the following;
windows defender firewall == %SystemRoot%\system32\mpssvc.dll
Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection Service (the a/v) == %ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection\MsSense.exe

Apply the "take ownership" script to your systems context menu.
Take ownership of the .dll/.exe file and reset permissions.
Rename the .dll/exe to something like xxx.exe_BAK or xxx.DLL_BAK.
Done.
Reboot.

After that it should come up in the services panel as "file not found" or "service missing" or some such. Check perfmon and make certain no defender thread or process is running - if it cant find the code it cant run the service...

This should be used only in the cases where no other remedy is evident. word to the wise - check the dependencies for the defender FW & AV before doing the above. They may have tied some other vital service or alarm to these two to make it harder to circumnavigate. In Win10 it's totally doable. Dunno about 11..

Just run the intel Extreme Tuning Util
U can overclock without hiccups and crank it when doing critical tasks.
It throttles really well, so it wont overheat.
