Logic Pro - Core function pointer

Discussion in 'Logic' started by Vincent Price, Sep 28, 2023.

  1. Hello

I am just setting up my computer again and logic keeps telling me it can't get the core function pointer, but it isn't telling me anything else as in what plugin it is related to

Anyone had this and how did you solve it?

    Thanks

    Ozone probably

  4. Is it known for doing that? I recently installed Ozone 11...never having a problem with Ozone 10...

Your system is not supported. It happened to me with Mojave and the new Izotope installers

This is easy to figure out. Close Logic. Make a new folder called Components Backup, or something like that. Go to your /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components folder. Take all the plugins you suspect to be your culprit and move them into the backup folder. You can do them one at a time, a big bunch, or All of them. Start Logic. When Logic opens and you no longer have this error, you know that your problematic plugin is one of the plugins now in the Backup folder. Simple process of elimination. Begin putting them back in groups and checking Logic again.

It can be faster if you move all the plugins from the same vendor at one time. So if you think it is Izotope, do those first. Moving them around like this on Mac will not cause any problems, like it might on Windows. It makes this close to a no-brainer.

I made a similar comment about Izotope "Minimum Requirements" recently. A few I have noticed work on High Sierra when according to their version requirements, they should not. And they have been moving their requirements up to newer minimum versions of MacOS faster than any other developer. Izotope would be a good educated guess for causing this problem.
