I am wondering, when installing Komplete Kontrol in the past on Mac, has anyone ever had the loading issue message when trying to load a plugin?

Also, has anyone had Komplete Kontrol look for a plugin that isnt actually there? In the past I when starting it up, I had it trying to look for Ozone 9...which didn't exist on my computer, having a later version of it (I think Ozone 10)

I Keep all my libraries on my external SSD and do not know how to get Komplete Kontrol to look for them on...it always seems to look in the default location on the Mac.

I want Komplete Kontrol on my Mac, but don't want to go through all the installation just to be greeted with those messages again.

Anyone able to help?

I just installed v2.4. If you go into the preferences, plugins tab you can add paths for plugins, and in Library tab you can add paths for audio content. V2.4 by default is only looking at /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST for plugins. Do you have your plugins installed as VST? If they are VST3 format, you have to add those folder locations too.

About finding plugins that do not exist, yes it will find them and make it look like they are installed. But it is probably just finding old installation data as plist files in perferences or some other files like xml, etc.

The last time I used Komplete Kontrol was with Cubase on my old intel Mac many many years ago and all worked fine. It seems just since I changed to Logic Pro it doesn't work

 

I never use it either and I have an NI S49 controller. I updated that first reply now that i have it reinstalled. I do not keep VST or VST3 format plugins, because I only use Logic and AU plugin format. Otherwise they just take up space.

 

Yeah, the only reason I want Komplete Kontrol is because I can then use it with my S61 MK2. Other than that I may as well sell it and change it out for a normal MIDI keyboard.

 

when i first got mention of them not working with AU i thought it was just a joke. Alas, not quite. But I also wear reading glasses, so those little screens wouldn't be very useful to me anyway. Not at the cost of having 2 or 3 copies of every plugin. Everything else about it is great.

 

Yeah, you would have thought they would have made everything be compatible with AU and VST but oh well. I have tried and tried but still can't get anything loading up, no it is just saying can't load plugin. These are kontakt libraries.

 

Do you have a VST or VST3 version of Kontakt installed? I don't at the moment. So I can see the thumbnails of my K6 libraries, and they even play preview sounds. But then when clicked say "plugin cannot be found". So I am assuming this is just because I need to install Kontakt VST formats.

edit: I installed the 6.6.1 VST format copies of Kontakt and it is opening them for me now in Komplete Kontrol as Standalone. That is launching the libraries and their instruments, not Kontakt as a plugin instance. And now they are working in Logic too.

I got one to not work. Shreddage. It is probably newer than my K6 version will allow, and maybe Komplete Kontrol adheres to those same "minimum requirement" BS that standard Kontakt does.

Ooooh, that's interesting...I may have to try that. I think there are some updates to kontakt anyway.

 

this actually works to load AU versions into Komplete Kontrol via BlueCat Patchwork Synth. I have a hardware synth on my desk right now, and my s49 over on the A-Frame rack. I haven't tested it with the S49 yet, maybe I will later. As I said though, I do not really care about the screens showing stuff I can't read anyway. lol. Logic piano roll is triggering this morphodite setup. It would be funny if working on an S-series keyboard, but i really doubt it will. It would probably be helpful for running AU plugins within Standalone Komplete Kontrol, though. It Is returning audio back to the Logic channel strip this way.

You are amazing! All this time I have been asking this question and no one has had the answer...thank you so much. Having only a certain amount of space on my Mac I am very careful about what goes on it and if I don't need it for example VST format of a plugin it gets deleted. All this time and I never realised I was making an issue for myself. The only thing is it is not showing up my arturia plugins but I think that is because I do not have the VST versions of it.
