I looking for jazz guitar vst or kontakt library. What is the "best" library or vst? I tried Electri6ity and Evolution Electric Guitar - Strawberry but I'm not impressed.

I cannot really think of a better jazz guitar library sound than Electri6ity's wonderful and detailed 335 going into a good tube amp (not the one included in Kontakt of course). :wow:

The only fault I can find it's mainly related to workflow not sound. Did you already tried the enhancements suggested in the 1.1 update and using the DI version to feed an external amp sim?

If yes I give up! :bleh:

You can try Amplesound's VIs, which, in my opinion, aren't all that great for things like hard rock or metal, but may have a decent sound for jazz (listen to the demos). You should also look into MusicLab's RealStrat or RealLPC, which sound phenomenal. It kind of sounds like you have an issue with complicated keyswitching or triggers (especially in Electri6ity's case), and all of the VIs/sample libraries listed here depend on keyswitches and triggers to get realistic articulations, so you may not be happy with anything we've suggested. The only sample libraries I can think of that are both easy to use and don't really depend on keyswitches are Pettinhouse's DirectGuitar or WarmJazz. They sound fairly decent, they just don't feature a lot of articulations. Again, listen to the demos and figure whether or not they're close to what you're looking for.

Any (real) hollowbody electric guitar with some flatwound strings.

    Oh, sorry.

You're right, Ample Sound's Electric Guitars are not suitable for rock or metal music but as i said before especially their soft and clean tones are like a real guitar. I recommend Prominy SC too.

And I agreed! Also, didn't think of Prominy, but if Electri6ity's keyswitches and triggers are giving the OP problems, Prominy's stuff would be a total nightmare. They do have the best articulations and sound, but the size of the library and the amount of complicated programming involved isn't worth it.

Most of, if not all of Amplesound's demos seem to showcase their abilities as jazz or lead instruments, and most people I know who use their VIs are using them for that purpose, seems like a good fit. I have Pettinhouse's Direct Guitar, and while it sounds pretty decent and is easy to play, it's limited (I actually have a really old version with no GUI, so this may have completely changed in the present version). I also have Pettinhouse's Funk Guitar, with the present Kontakt GUI, and for what it is (basically, just a decent way to get funk guitar chords and some chuka's) it works great with minimal effort. You can even set it up to play patterns.

Given the OP is from 2014 and the poster hasn't been seen since 2016, it seems unlikely.
