Does this new one have round-robin? I thought this feature was quite important for a drum machine.

 

New Phoscyon, new LuSH, now new Drumazon. Are we going to new a new Nithonat, Nephoton, Sigmund etc too to refresh their awesome older stuff? I hope so because D16 stuff never disappoints, even their effects with Tekutron being my go to multi use echo/delay plugin!

No. Patterns can be randomized though.

The Randomizer fills internal patterns with randomly generated content, working only in Internal mode. Select the Random tab from the Pattern Editor properties column to enable the Randomizer:
Using the instrument names column, you can select the tracks you wish to randomize:
Clicking selects a single track; to select more than one, hold the CTRL key on your keyboard while clicking addit i onal tracks to add to the select i on. Once you’ve decided which tracks you wish to randomize, click the Next but t on to gener-ate randomly populated track rows:
If you haven’t selected any tracks then the ent i re pat t ern will be randomized (all tracks).
It’s worth ment i oning that randomizat i on isn’t a special mode; you can switch between Edit and Random tabs with no restrict i ons. Also, when the Random tab is selected, you can modify sequence content (in the grid), just like you were edit i ng it.
Every t i me a new sequence is drawn, you can use the Amount knobs to precisely set the “density” of the generated sequence individually for each of the randomized tracks:m

No brainer insta upgrade for me, drove the wife nuts all day yesterday with this and Phoscyon 2. Fantastic fun and a great sounding VST.

 

909 round robin just the kontakt instrument/libraries of Wave Alchemy I believe. They sound good (use more CPU too) there's also a Live only lib cheaper straight to drum racks.

I find a bit cumbersome to program so I used to use old drumazon as midi brain for the revolution and also doing the same with roland cloud 909 as I find the UI much better to use than kontakt and drumrack.

Anyway this new drumazon is so good I wouldn't even bother. Happy belated 909 day !

Are the sounds sampled? According to the manual they're synthesized so, no RR possible, just variations due to synthesis - which is way better, IMHO.
In ADD I always switch RR off for these kind of sounds.

 

why would a software emulation of an analog drum machine need round robin? its synthesizing the sounds in real time (apart from the hi hats and cymbals which are samples, the same as the original - but the original didnt have round robin so it would spoil the emulation

 

you are right, but I don't think an additional feature would bother anyone either. What added feature I would like to see though, would be the ability to drag the midi data out of the pattern sequencer onto it's DAW midi track directly; instead of having to save and re-import a file. Disreguard if it does, but i did not see it in the video.

It's fantastic. I was just posting on the release thread -- I own loads of drum machine apps and I see this replacing them all. It's powerful, it's easy to use and it sounds fucking awesome.

Of course, you've got the usual morons over there whining. Some people will whine about anything, FFS. It's almost as if they think somebody's twisting their arm up their back and forcing them to download it.

Has there ever been a hardware drum machine with round robin? I've never heard of one. Did they have it on the old MPC's or something? I thought it was just a feature you had on software drum samplers. I'm pretty sure my Digitakt doesn't have a round robin feature, and that's as full featured a hardware drum sampler as it gets.
