I downloaded the patch for Kontakt 6 and uploaded it on VirusTotal and it is obviously infected with multiple viruses. Is there another way to crack Kontakt (6 or 7 whatever) ? Because I've been struggling to download it for a while now

Just another comment saying Bob Dule is trustworthy. I've always used his Kontakt releases EXCLUSIVELY.

If you downloaded it from the "sister site" you should be fine.

 

Bob has his own site which is also safe.

Checking cracks for virii is practically useless at this point as more oft than not it fires off a false positive due to the tools used to protect the cracks, etc. Companies and individuals will also submit the cracked exe's to AV databases so they get tagged that way as well.

 

bobdule is completely trustworthy, your antivirus is probably the problem. Just disable your antivirus, and then download and use the patch.

I tried that but the links to download it from free file storage are not found (error 404)

Edit : I downloaded the patch on his site and Windows defender said it detected a Trojan, is it a false positive ?

I mean yes i'm just a big tech newbie so im afraid about anything. I'll just dowload the damn patch and see what happens

 

Rule of thumb... scene releases and A/V and/or windows update, and/or leaving internet connections running on media production machines that you're using the scene releases on do not get along with each other. Essentially what will happen is sooner or later if the A/V is left on, and/or the os updater or leaving the net connected all the time, something will end up phoning home (or simply be deleted in the background) and will spork itself out of the blue and render itself useless.

 

If you are worried about the virus warning and are using windows, I suggest you use the portable version of Kontakt. I've never had any issues using the portable version/library manager.
My AV has never kicked up a warning about any virus. I went portable first time with Kontakt 5. I'm now on Kontakt 7.5.2. So easy to update each time a new portable version number comes out. The portable is both freestanding and also loads into my DAW with no problems.
