Why waste your time creating an AI system that produce music instead of you and other people?

 

Jeffrey Dahmer definitely didn't think that what he made was waste of time. Sad but true.

Money making dude... last week a colleague of mine lost a job because the customer decided to buy short audios generated by an AI-generated stock music bank. Quality? no, the customer himself said: -despite being simple, it is cheaper. I don't need so much sophistication and expertise anymore.

He is starting and will get other clients. But this reality imposes more difficulties, certainly because, in the past, you could try to convince the customer to value a product with more quality. These days it's all about cutting costs (imagine that, in the case of the Hollywood extras, the producers wanted to scan them and pay only once to use their AI-replicated images as many times as they wanted!) and that's reflected in quality. Worse, it often seems that many audio professionals don't care about quality anymore.

I doesn't want to go to an argument with others, but the truth is that whatever happens is because simply we people as a whole choose to, not because of any circumstances. Mankind only blame circumstances just to hide their own noncompliance, flaws and blemishes...

For example if people for whatever reason decide to avoid something the thing will fade away in due course (as had been with numerous things /objects/customs etc) and nothing will make/keep it viable or relevant unless we all choose too. Its us who determine what will live...

Same is the case with Arts and Music....
If we choose to... Music as an art will live on and if we not then who's going to stop it from.... Dying

Now coming to AI most of those who dabbles in Mathematics knew that AI, Machine learning etc is nothing spectacular just a fancy term for extension of Boolean Algebra in the field of computer science. It's just a calculation to arrive at some deduction we want or just picking a random result from the set of calculations.

Algebra/Algorithm cannot determine (Hence AI or whatever) an unknown entity not put into calculations. So it may create a picture or track but not ART.

Well friends I guess we are intelligent enough to determine what is art and what is not..

So the question will always be whether we want to see the art in what we create or just look away knowing what it is and make a fool of ourselves

The answer my friend is with us...
If we choose not to make a fool of ourselves MUSIC will always remain

And if Music remains business will find a way by itself.
