I just got an email from Image Line to update my paid version of FL Studio to 21.1.
Logged in and they said they'd send me a verification code.
No code in my inbox or spam folders.
Tried 4 more times.
Tried to change my password but got no email with a code.
Tried to contact but it just kept me going in a loop with no way to access them for help.
WTF is this? I paid for it, why can't I access it.
Wouldn't it be funny if I had to use a cracked version even after paying.
If they don't get their shit together I'll be looking at switching DAWs.

 

Although I also find it nonsensical to claim that the terms and conditions were only translated with Google (make me thgink he knwe tehre could be a problem) and perhaps the OP could have inquired directly with the company...

BUT in fact companies are usually considerably superior to the customers legally. The contracts are written by specialized lawyers in such a way that an average consumer, and that is most buyers of software, cannot understand them.
Therefore, in some countries, including the one I live in there are obligations on the part of the companies that forbid, for example, the use of so-called surprising clauses. With such a clause, the entire contract is often invalid or at least open to interpretation.

Unfortunately, not all manufacturers are in an area of advanced legal settings, and the companies are unduly and unfair favored.

 

Never happened to me. I updated to 21.1 a couple of days ago. Just contact support and they will help. These guys are awesome.

Inspite of knowing FL being the most pirated Daw software Image-Line never created hassles for the legitimate FL users till today unlike what steinberg did with Cubase as many others did too..

It protects it software just like any other company without compromising the convenience of legitimate users, which is expected. Otherwise what is the point of doing business..

As demberto mentioned with GOL (Primarily a video game development expert initially) leaving few years back Image-Line is now recruiting and being handled by people who had actual knowledge of music and are opening up to listening to their users and gradually introducing long awaited changes.
It's difficult likely with the code rewrite but it's certainly trying to improve..

It's EULA are just like most of the audio companies, nothing special, nothing exceptional,. Just norm of the day in Audio industry.

So falling afoul of any terms though unfortunate will be hard to differentiate from feigned ignorance.

Since its inception that software had gone on to play a genre defining role in the creation of grime and gqom, change hip-hop, influence dubstep and help launch the careers of EDM’s biggest superstars.

It's acceptance and accessibility among the users of early Daw days (including pirated copies ) is beyond compare and legendary.

In the words of Grammy winning 9th wonder “I didn’t choose FruityLoops to sample, that’s the only choice I had. But the fact that it’s a $50 program that you download off Kazaa and I won a Grammys off of it fucks with some people, man.”

As are countless others

A software is as good as it is used. FL has its share of flaws and drawbacks like just any others.

Also, the way they have been updating FL studio in last two years, especially after that Indian CEO taking over, if they keep up with that pace, all the major daws going to have a tough fight from FL Studio. The Piano roll is already the best. They are improving the playlist and overall workflow. ARA is on the way. I am really excited..

 

Still waiting after over 24 hours for verification code or reply to my support email.
The "powerful features" in the new version of FL Studio are unavailable to me until I can get a verification code.
Not impressed.
Will email support again tomorrow.

they will know if you use a reg file from another user once you contact image line, i bought the producer edition a while back and tried to access my account,when i sent image line a ticket as to why they said i was using an invalid reg file

 

FL 12 is still the best version of all times it has that perfect balance

 

Always read the fine print, and there's Google Translate if your first language is not English.
The demo is pretty functional, has lifetime free updates, is easy to use, and is decently priced.
Lesson learned. Move on.

 

Why FL deserves to be cracked.

 

Though it doesn't deserve to be cracked,....
The very fact that it is the most pirated piece of cracked Daw software took it to the heights it is today...
And the love amongst the community

Besides being the the first glimpse into the world of music production for countless no of bedroom producers, it is also due to its cracked availability which helped the rise and launch the career of the superstars of EDM.

Akin to the commercial failure of Roland 808( leading to it's cheap availability in 2nd hand market) helped creation of genres of music and changed the face of Music forever....
It is its cracked nature which made that piece of production software available to countless amateurs who's experimentation with beat production would later go on to gave rise to new genres and change many genres as we know today.
So even for all its cracked history it is perhaps the most loved Daw software and ironically one of the most profitable Daw companies...
We wish FL all the best for to come..
