Does anybody knows if the Applied Acoustics instruments (Chromaphone, Ultra Analog, etc.) are different from the Applied Acoustics instruments that come in Live (Colision, Analog, etc.) ? Or is just the same thing with different look?

So far i remember from the Ableton Manual they are the same company.
Ableton does commission different devs to do/improve devices in Live. For example the guy from Cytomic did the Glue Compressor and also stuff on EQ8. Its a normal thing.

AAS provides a lot of physical modeling synthesis tech / code, so most of their stuff is derived from that.. karplus strong algos etc
digital model of physical instruement (or effects as with corpus) .. but things that resonate.. theyre good for that. chromophone is it's own thing .. it's a highly-malleable and deeply customizable physical model that allows for detailed discrete control over things like the physical membrane, striker and resonators . It would be amazing if they built chromophone into ableton! but they didnt.
