Lets ''Be Very Honest '' Are u dedicated so much that if someone get in your way of making music like a relationship or friendship that requires u to neglect the music u make and the importance of what u trying to accomplish within music would u stay in that relationship or friendship? like how dedicated are u because this is real shit it happens

Now if u do choose the person you with over music thats understandable as well just in case of some people not understanding where im coming from

and yeah i know people also do music for a hobby so they can be effected from this as well because a lot of times this the only time they can enjoy themselves

I'm sick of music. I'd trade music for a good hamburger.

don't care, wont answer, wont choose, wont put myself in that situation nor spend any second thinking about it. Just treat it like trees. It's there, I'm absolutely allowed and capable of doing nothing about it.

Here you go! Music in Hamburg in a theatre that looks like a hamburger. You needn't give up one for the other.

Before having my daughter, I was 100% focused and dedicated (I was always that guy who first deliver any job parts I was doing). After becoming a father, moving to another city, my ability to create/produce decreased (due to reduced free time, low concentration and little privacy). Only now, that my baby turned 2 years and two months old, I'm finally getting back to composing/producing more often. But still, since it's just me and my wife, when I go to pick up my instrument and start producing songs/multimedia music on my daw, I still feel pretty tired and feel like I don't perform like I used to. And I know that I'm training my brain to produce again. Yeah pal, responsible parenthood is a huge job!

Specifically about your comment, think carefully about the steps you will take in your life. Planning is never too bad. People talk a lot about letting it run free, letting everything happen, not worrying so much about things, etc, but if you can self-program yourself in the direction of your dream, better for you.

'Art for art's sake, money for God's sake' - 10CC

You'd better be dedicated to making money elsewhere first because it's extremely difficult to make money from art. If you've set your course on this path in life you'd better be dedicated to it above all else, nothing can be allowed to get in your way. You're shooting for a tiny target at the limit of your range and the target is moving.

The better question might be 'am I fooling myself that what I'm doing is good enough?'.

I'm doing none of that, I'm just trying to make art for art's sake. Age chips away at your dedication and reality beats you over the head until you get it through your thick skull - 'No, you're not good enough, have some more of this!' Then you can start enjoying what you're doing.

But if you're smart you can make a living from music once you abandon the dream of fame and fortune. If you do it this way, if music is your income, your work, then just like with any other job you can't let other people prevent you from working.

If you're young don't worry about any of this, just do what you really want to do. A friend/partner needs to understand that you need to pursue your dreams. If they want to stop you it might be for their own selfish reasons. Or they're trying to tell you that they don't think you're good enough (not being good enough shouldn't stop you either because dedication will lead you to being good enough).

What you really need is realistic expectations and a strategy to progress to a realistic goal.

The word 'dedication' doesn't mean 100% commitment to something. It isn't really a useful term in reality. In reality it's more like 'I really want to do this other thing but I have to do this one thing first'. It's where the term 'life gets in the way' comes from.

If you're married forget about it, your dream is dead.

Anything or person that would stop me doing music would be out of my life rapidly.
    Because music IS my life.
If a person get so much in the way of music, that means that this person do not respect nor understand who I am so no relationship is possible..
One exeption is if a family member (which includes true friends) have a big problem and need my help.

I've been involved in making music in one way or the other since I was a kid, so all (girl)friends knew that straight from the beginning and have never done this. Why should they?
