...for a program that automatically uninstalls all of the junk plugins you've been hoarding? Asking for a friend.

    Me. The friend is me.

Nothing. I have no problem with uninstalling plugins maually if necessary, it's not THAT time consuming and not worth automating imo...BUT, most plugins i have installed are cracked (even if i own original licenses for some) just for the sake of simplicity.

I imagine that with all the propertary licesing software legit plugins come with it'd be nice to have something that could interact with it automatically to uninstall them "the right way" (and possibly avoiding licensing issues with the manufacturer) instead of just deleting files.

IF such thing was possible AND i went fully legit AND was feeling super lazy, i'd probably pay something like 10 bucks tops. it's basically like paying a human to do something that will take them like 30 minutes to an hour and requires no particular tech skill. It'd also probably be a one time thing so...:dunno:

    I'd pay two fitty

But really, no program can determine what's junk to you. Otoh, IObit's Unistaller utility is great for letting you choose everything you don't want and nuking it all utterly, including registery entries.

    Haven't tried that.
I use "Total Uninstall Pro", never seen anything so powerful.

That is like Revo Uninstaller Pro to me; I've literally never seen it. But I have seen that program fix more bs on Windows than any other. Hard to locate/deliberate residual files, and also things that don't even really make sense. User screwed installing something, and it still fixes it.

    This. all day.
Revo Uninstaller is better than most (all?) at rooting out all the bits of bullshit that devs feel the need to litter about your PC.

Well hell, now I need to check that out. The IOBit seems to work well but their stuff can be invasive, phoning home and popping up ads.

Studio One has a 'Statistics' section which shows how long it has been since you last used a plugin. Very useful for cleaning things up.

That's not bad, I "demoed" it for a while, but overall wasn't happy with it, comparatively.
I'm pretty sure that "Karen" has a copy of Revo Uninstaller on her "PC." (*wink*wink*nudge*nudge*) :winker:

Not if you block it with a decent firewall. As I do.

There should be one that can, for AI curating entire sample collections. Auto-find all "Demo.mp3." It could have different algorithms for finding other true junk, or you could filter by "Trap", or "Fake 808s", "Off pitch vocal samples", "Stash Kit", etc. And Mass Delete features for anything it finds. Repetitive stuff that is easy to do, but even lazier.

Me too, that's how I can tolerate it. I'm gonna try the Revo though.

When it comes to uninstall Revo is as good as the best. Including the one I use, "Total Uninstall Pro".
The latter gives some nice features to create "no installs" that I really like.

For REVO (or any uninstaller, even windows uninstall) there has to be the infrastructure built for un-installation that usually only an original installer would have setup beforehand (uninstall.ini, etc...) . REVO does have forced-uninstall and program tracers to aid with doing semi-automated uninstalls even when the infra is not present. But that is never as good as a properly setup automated uninstall. A lot of lesser plugins with crappy installers (or no installer at all) are notorious for leaving no uninstall inits in their setup/install process.
