I think that the sustained pressurization of the fuselage for a prolonged period of time and then the depressurization during decent affected the change for me. I'll need to see if it happens again on the way home, and I certainly hope that it does.

I keep going back and forth about what to do about mixing . . . perhaps the best solution is to do nothing . . . prepare my songs and either use the latest A.I. all-in-one auto-mix software and/or send out the stems. I think the options currently available are amazing, and I use them in classroom settings to reach and teach "at risk" teens, but for my own personal projects I need to limit my exposure to sound as much as possible. I used to love mixing and putting all the little flavorful touching on tracks, but now it's a source of discomfort and pain. Yet, I have songs and they will need to be finished.

Landed today after a 7 hour flight and the tinnitus is lessened again, but not by more than probably 30% this time.

I am leaning towards not mixing . . . focus on the song itself and recording quality/source material, then beg a passionate mixing guru to take over. I am wearing too many hats, and maybe I shouldn't. Do you love mixing? That might be the real question. I don't love it . . . it's a means to an end. I find it stressful . . . making micro decisions that make macro differences. And, I do not trust my ailing ears. How do you feel about the process? Mix or Not to Mix???
