How to Use Nexus 2 XPs in Nexus 4.5.13

CLEAN INSTALL METHOD:

1. Uninstall Nexus 2 (Keep Nexus 2 Content folder)

2. Move ‘Nexus 2 Content’ Folder to Backup Drive or to another safe location.

3. Uninstall Nexus 4

4. Clean any leftover files (DON’T DELETE ANY ‘NEXUS 2 CONTENT’ FILES.).

5. Install Nexus 4.

6. Install Factory Rom 3 & 4 Expansions. (Place all content inside your ‘NEXUS library’ folder)

7. Run 'Update_Nexus_Library_Location.exe' to Set Location

8. Start Nexus 4 and Play for Confirmation

9. Close DAW.

10. Copy and Paste old N2 content to new ‘NEXUS library’ folder (Except ‘Skins’ folder and ‘Database.db’ file) and merge them. (On WiN skip any exsisting files, as the newer N4 files would be replaced by old N2 files)

11. Open Nexus 4 (If XPs don’t show up immediately, just wait a few seconds )

12. Test sounds, everything should be working properly now.

Where find that 'Library exe' to set Location?

 

The 'update_nexus_library_location.exe' should be in the 'Factory 3 & 4 Rom' when you download it.

 

What expansions from Nexus2 were missing from Nexus4? Or is this just so you don't have to download them all over again?

 

Any User/Custom XPs which has a different format than Nexus 4 XPs.

 

I got 'Factory 3 & 4 Rom' but... but it's not there

Can you tell exactly which folder it's in?

There is no 'update_nexus_library_location.exe' file in the folder 'Factory 3 & 4 Rom' (as you can see in the photo).

 

Yea check your Nexus 4 library did you install Nexus 4 VR?

 

The 2.3.2 expansions are now working without any 'conversion' or 'access server' nonsense in Nexus v4.5.13, you can download 30,000 of them here:

See the link in the video description for Google Drive. These are by far the best presets I've heard on any synth, for originality and usability, despite the fact that many of them are described as 'Trap', etc.

 

Maybe you could download the free program 'Search Everything' and that will search all your drives for 'update_nexus_library_location.exe', that's how I found mine.

When you install the Nexus 4 VR release, during installation you got the option to install
1. The library files (i.e where the library tool locator too is)

2. The Plugin itself

 

None of these have their respective samples. They won't load unless they have their samples

 

You need to have the commercial Nexus 2.3.2 expansions for the 30,000 presets to work, true. But presumably most people who had Nexus 2.3.2 have got the commercial expansions for it. I'm sure they are all available on the internet (or do they come with the 170GB Nexus 3 expansion release? I don't know.)
Basically, if you have all the expansions that were available for Nexus 2.3.2 when it was cracked, then these 30,000 presets will work.

If you already have Nexus 4 installed its enough to just copy the Nexus 2 Presets into your Nexus 4 Folder. If you have all XP's which where available at that time installed all Presets will work just like in Nexus 2.

 

Only 1 problem with all this, Nexus 4 is not working for a lot of ppl right now. *sigh*

 

VR already released an update to v4.5.13 fixing the server authorisation problem. Grab it fast before it disappears

Just copy the presets, samples and NKS folders from your old Nexus 2 contents folder and Paste it in the Nexus 4 library folder and you are good to go

 

Does anyone have a fix for the "the expansion for the preset is not installed/ReFX Cloud" message you get on Nexus 4.5.13 on Windows when you try to use these?
