Can someone please help with choosing a free debloated version of windows 10. I need a build specifically tailored for audio production cause right now I'm having a lot of latency issue's inside Studio One v6 and I'm on a ghost spectre windows 10 superlite build.
Any recommendations for a stable, bloatware free, low latency windows 10 build???

 

Ghost Spectre is fine, if you have latency problems, then it's problem of your hardware or its drivers

 

I recently bought the new Zoom uac-232 32 bit audio interface and since then I've been having this problem, so i think you might be right.

 

There is absolutely no reason to be paying for any windows version. In fact it sounds pretty scammy that there are folks out there doing that. Like what is the "value add" for paying some monkey for something you can get for free elsewhere? Like these scammy sites are going to provide you with "support" - that's funny

Win 10 version (20H1 etc...) will be dictated by what software's you eventually want to have running on the machine. Some softwares require certain minimum windows versions before they will even install. Might want to keep that in mind when choosing what to grab. I have tested Ghost-Spectre's builds and they are very customizable for what ever amount of optimization one wants to apply - AND (at last glance anyway) they don't charge $$$ for their builds.

Also one last word to the wise... If you're building a media production machine (audio, video, or both) it should NOT be on the internet. Build another machine that is optimized and secured for internet access, but do not put the production machine on a direct connection.

I recently installed Nexus LiteOS 22H2, found it after struggling which Oprekin version I had to choose. So, none!
Because this Nexus version is just the same. I'm quite happy.. It looks like PT runs much smoother on this install compared to an older Bloat version I had.

The only thing I didn't like is the dark mode that came with Nexus Lite, plus the fact you can't change this when Windows isn't activated.

The BEST (and only way afaic) way to "activate" 10 or 11 (office as well) is via powershell script - don't even mess with anything else because it doesn't compare. I think that is what was being hinted at in the older thread quoted above? As far as KMS goes - there are number of them that work perfectly fine (for win7 and below). The only thing to avoid with KMS's are the ones that do NOT automatically reactivate. KMS should behave like a set-it-and-forget-it kind of thing, not a recurring PITA. The ones that simply do 30-60 days then you're back to square one again, are total crap and not worth a dam.

Afair KMS 2038 doesn't require renewing until 2038 and KMS "digital license" is permanent / fully offline. Everything else requires renewing every 180 days.

I use TNCTR KMS Suite 9.7 (available in Turkish and English). MAS AIO and KMS_VL_ALL are other options.

 

KMS_VL_ALL == the powershell script. Do it once, and forget it (unless you rebuild the system) . For win 10 and 11 (not for win7 and below)

Guys you better know what you are downloading. A safe and stable operating system is the foundation of your DAW. There are some reputable and trusted builders out there with a long track record. Conversely, there are some inexperienced or unscrupulous builders that will make you regret not sticking with a factory build. Bottom line is, if you are going for a custom build you MUST make sure that you know what you are installing. That the builder is safe. And that the system is stable.

 

Avoid "pay for" downloads of any OS like the plague. There's no future in it except for separating you from your $$$.

 

That is one interesting statement without any explanation whatsoever. Therefore, it is worthless or at least doubtful. Seriously, without a good explanation as to your conclusion I think your statement is absurd. For example, if you pay $20 for a custom built W 10 or W 11 that you will use for the next 5 or 6 years, make money, and not have to worry about the common Microfuck shit, how can you say that there is no future in it? It does not make any sense. I had problems with Studio One spiking like crazy with official Windows 10 release. Talked to Oprekin, and ended up using one of his builds. End of problem with the spikes. Accordingly, what is to avoid? I know, statements like yours. Statements like yours, do NOT help. To the contrary, all they do is turn people away from a potential solution to their problem. More so, when some of us are affirming that it did solved the issue we were having.

Just download from microsoft and perfom a clean install with local account (only) do not log with microsoft account nor hotmail nor outlook... just don't.

Don't open bluethooth and do not allow to connect with cell phone nor tablets or other device always just use ethernet cables.

Then download this and fallow instructions

Maybe, read UP the thread before running off at the mouth... Yeah.. I'm so sure the "pay" OS was the "solution" for the 'spikes'.. Absolutely ridiculous. Most likely it's some tweak that was applied differently or something that wasn't there before.

I will reiterate for those with "up arrow's" that seem to be broken...

There are MANY "pay for" and free third party win builds, how many have you tried? I tried quite a few free ones and an few "pay" ones that were released into the wild. I will add as well, of those pay ones released into the wild, NONE of them failed virus/mw checks, or checksums compared to the builder originals. The only one out of all of them that was a value add was GhostSpectre. GhostSpectre is free and offers a wider gamut of granular optimization which was not present on any of the "pay for's", unless it was done manually. The only reason the "pay for's" exist is to separate one from their ca$hy money. There is no value add. As far as stability/integrity goes, even with the "pay for's" you're getting what amounts to a pirated OS. If you're OK with that, then there's really no reason to piss and moan. Within the community of the various build slip streamers none of them are going to purposely affect or infect their builds with whatever conspiratorial garbage-ware your mind conjures up... Just like with scene release teams, they do not want their work tainted as they will be bad rapped right out of existence.

Of course that's not to say there aren't nefarious individuals who will attempt to try and re-distribute crap that is infected with real malware, but that is why we have hashes, check-sums, and virus/mw scanners. Needless to say, just like anything else, get your stuff from the builders site and make sure those check-sums and hashes are good before you install, just like anything else.

If you're worried about stability or just worried in general, THIS is the only way you should go. The ONLY "pay for" os that is guaranteed "stable" (as stable as windows gets with all the crapware).

 

As ridiculous as you called it, it took care of MY problem, therefore, I will run my motherfucking mouth about it all I want. Indeed, you are the one who should read the thread. You jump in here trying to dispute something that WORKED FOR ME. THAT certainly is ridiculous.
