Hi guys,

My internet laptop died and I decided to buy a good value for money desktop so that it can double as my live gig computer

Dont mind getting a more expensive motherboard because want to make sure that will be good at dealing with latency and audio related problems. I say this because i read that asus mbs seem to be more or less what i'm describing above

I dont have stomach for reading more technical specs anymore so I am asking for your wisdom instead

Hi Articstorm, sorry4dconfusion...i want a desktop

 

In atx format....thought about a midrange intel. Maybe would consider amd too. problem is, there are so many types and i have problem to link it to a suitable motherboard. Will be mainly for internet but want to use it also for opening vstis and chain fx as a helper for the main audio computer

One interesting thing I noted was that the tower case I see in pics seem similar to the Fractal Design R5 (which i have). They might be the XL R2...
The R5 is no longer promoted... I found it by searching in the Fractal Design website, and find very vew available anywhere. (my main concern = plenty of drive bays)

Of course gaming rigs seem to equate well to DAW use, but DAWs don't need a great video card like gaming rigs, and that money might be spent on memory or storage or etc.

Thank you Double Take, i will read the info from those sites.
If anyone could recommend a specific 1 or 2 year old cpu with a suitable motherboard would help me to save a lot of time, i am stuck
