This piano collection now includes a Yamaha C3, a Steinway Model B and a Baldwin Baby Grand. There are also three specialty pianos, a prepared, an intimate and a honky-tonk piano.

Thanks to the audiosex gang for interest and feedback on my various adventures in instruments!

Thanks so much for giving the pianos a try and your kind comments, chippy33, Kontakt Guru, n12n0 and transporter1333.
Those are some lovely pianos Mr Lyann Music. I'm almost glad I can't afford all the expensive ones, I'd sprain my fingers and my brain trying to listen to them all. I'd toss my vote to either Imperfect Samples or the older school Sampletekk pianos if we were voting on pianos in general. The former based on demos, the latter on experience.
The Baldwin is my fave of these as I sampled it myself and it was an interesting, though sometimes frustrating experience. I certainly gained new respect for the folks who do it for a living and put out instruments with tens of thousands of samples. Even 440 samples took forever to record, edit and assemble, not to mention trying to figure out scripting and GUI stuff. Still it was really fun to see it go from a few hours on CDs to an actual instrument.

A cool chap named Diego noticed that the Iowa Piano was sort of stereo backwards with the bass notes tending toward the right and treble notes to the left. So I added an inverter in Kontakt to fix it. Sadly I have no idea how to fix it in sfz or vsti.
    New link - http://www.mediafire.com/download/yzlxyydtl7gu0h5/Iowa_Piano.nki

or to fix it in Kontakt without the 200 meg download
Click on the wrench to open all the instrument options.
    Go to Insert Effects.
On one of the blank boxes press the '+' and choose 'Effects' then choose 'Inverter'. Its second from the bottom.
This will bring up buttons called 'Phase Invert' and L/R Swap'.
    Press L/R Swap.
    Save as a Compressed Monolith.

Also I'm all excited, I got warezed! Type in "bigcat Instruments - Piano Collection" into your favorite search engine and tons of frightening sites come up. Of course if you click on any of the sites, you'll need to see a medical specialist immediately. I think there are even torrents. I sort of feel like I've joined the big boys, well the quite small big boys!

The Salamander Piano has been downloaded almost 1000 times and the City Piano over 2500 from mediafire. Thanks in no small part to the hundreds of hits from audiosex.pro. Thanks for that and all the advice and encouragement. Cheers.
