hip-hop (and a solid 2/3rds of pop music is just trap beats these days too) is the 2nd most popular genre in the world, not very shocking when you examine the numbers.

from the late 70s music "sound revolutions" come from elecctronic/home-studio music: disco, hiphop, acid, aphex twin, many sub genres of EDM (house, techno)

last influencing original wave sound is what's coming from Atlanta and neighbor, trap music

there hasnt been anything as strong/influencing as that in the last 7-8 years

so it's normal to find those sounds everywhere
