Purchased the Zen Go about a year ago and I was shocked at how dim its display was. In fact, even cranked up to full brightness it was still pretty bad and I returned it for the UAD SOLO. It sounded good but that display! I've since heard a few others confirming their disappointment with how dim the display is.

 

tbh i never cared how dim that totally useless lcd display was as i never watch it ever ... and that lcd display is not preventing the zen go and its dsp plugins from sounding great. i won't spit on uad solo either (because i'm sold out to UAD) but, from what i have described in my earlier post , the Zen Go is just perfect for me. maybe you can explain why do you need that lcd display to display stuff bright and crystal clear??? are you recording stuff on the field so you need to check levels by eye on that stupid lcd meter somewhere in the dark backend of a backstage ? why not using something else then?

I almost bought into Antelope as the price to hardware quality reputation was good, but it was many stories along the lines of yours (op) that ultimately kept me away. Went with RME, never looked back. Feels good man.

 

The hardware is solid, I don't regret the purchase, for now, but the sub only model is kind of meh. The D8 I got isn't a paperweight, it i what it is.
