Lois, it's a beautiful song. I plead guilty for not knowing it, and to be honest, I'm more familiar with music from the 80s. I was just thinking about the songs shared by my colleagues and the music I've been playing, and I believe that finding a 'common denominator' (for lack of a better term) seems to draw more attention to the music from the 70s, at least in my case. I don't know if it's because of my style (long hair, beard, hippie vibe) or perhaps the electric guitar. But if I think about it, it seems that what I do aligns better with the 70s. Maybe I should explore more music from that era. Thank you for sharing this song

That guitar is really good; it reminds me of Staind. In fact, I have several albums here, and I really like that vibe. The problem is that I don't think most people are familiar with them, and the key is a bit high for me, just like with Staind songs. But I'll try at least to play the first part alone on the guitar to see if people notice. Thank you for the recommendation!

What a great song, I hadn't heard it before. I loved the solo, the sound of it reminds me of the presets I usually create for my guitar. I'm discovering new music with you guys. Thank you for sharing it!

Slightly leftfield suggestion: Glory Box by Portishead.
A local busker plays this one, just acoustic guitar and voice, and it catches your ear because your brain knows the song but can't quite get to the title. Some know it from the original. Many more know it from adverts!

Thumb plays the descending bass line and the top strings just a single chord strum.

I see what is your post about, so, that's my proposal:
    Judas Priest Before The Dawn
sure only heartless person can pass by and not be hooked by this wonderful song.
As for me this is one of the best heavy metal songs and very underrated too...
It could be easily played on acoustic guitar

I'm not sure a subway is a good location because I imagine most people are either rushing to catch their train or coming home after a long day and just want to get there as quickly as possible, it isn't someplace that people generally hang around (the people who do hang around subways aren't people you want to know!). I would look for a more leisurely surrounding where people aren't hurrying by.

It's a good idea to play the bass notes with your thumb. I usually do it with certain chords, although it can be challenging to do it all the time. Thank you for the recommendation.

People are always in a rush and just think about going home, that's why I look for songs that are very well-known or that quickly convey that 'something' that grabs attention. Thanks !

It's already difficult to perform live. You have to deal with permits and the possibility of being stopped by the police. You have to maintain a certain volume, not for the audience because they ask you to turn it up, but because it bothers the subway personnel. Not everyone, but some. On the street, people also tend to pass by very quickly. Well, I live in the capital, Buenos Aires. And playing in bars, you don't get paid. You need to bring people, and you have to sell tickets to your friends or acquaintances. It's not easy to perform live; there are many musicians 'fighting' for a spot. In any case, I consider myself fortunate.

Both songs are beautiful, although I would lean more towards the one by Dire Straits. Thank you for the recommendation.

Is a good song, thanks !
Well, let me first tell you that I was amazed listening to the girl's incredible voice. I imagined her recording an album, with a powerful voice without a microphone, just with the subway reverb. It's truly incredible. Here, you also see many artists like that, with so much talent. It's very nice to listen to this. That being said, the girl performs where people wait for the subway, while I perform upstairs in a hall where people exit quickly. In that video, the subway stops, people come out, there are escalators, and there's a hall where the turnstiles are located, and that's where I am. I don't get to play downstairs; it's prohibited. I think it's for safety reasons, I'm not sure. So I don't have people waiting around me, only people passing by quickly. Those songs are really good too, I really like the arpeggio in the first one. Thanks for sharing, dude.

Soldier of Fortune - Deep Purple (then Whitesnake) is also a beautiful song to play and sing.

It's hard to pick for you, cultural preferences being what they are what works well in one place doesn't work so well in others.

Here is a dump see if something grabs you and test it out.

I think you would get better suggestions if we could hear you singing, much of this depends on your vocal sound and style.
