A lot of rock music is recorded live in a studio to capture the energy of the performance, and the timing can fluctuate which makes it sound organic.

    Really nice song!

    Some ideas for the guitar:

    - Try triggering release samples / fret noises instead of just letting notes ring out into silence.
    - Sprinkle in ghost notes / choked notes.
    - Hit the highest (or a higher) velocity layer on strong beats.
    - Use bends and vibrato, especially for notes that are held for longer.
    - Look into hammer ons/offs, sliding, pinching and tapping articulations.
    - Don't skip out on the occasional chord instead of single note->single note->single note.
