I report the misbehaviors with the latest NUGEN releases by R2R on Pro Tools 12.5 AudioUTOPiA, Win 10/11. The following plugins are apparently scanned normally, but are not displayed in the available plugins afterwards. They also crashed PT on scan once, which I've never had before. And they are: MasterCheck, Send, Stereoizer, Stereoplacer, Visualizer.
Let me know if you have similar feedback too.

considering that they are not patched in any way could be an issue with PT

EDIT: did a quick test and they load and work normally on the latest retail version

Yep... 2023.6... I've tested all the keygen protected ones and they work flawless...

To my knowledge, from version 11 & onwards, PT only works with their AAX plugin format.
AU can only be used with BlueCat Patchwork & Metaplugin. AAX plugins are listed here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins

pretty sure AU stands for Audioutopia in this case...

It's strange though, why some plugins are read and work flawlessly, and some don't? If they were not compatible with PT 12.5 no NUGEN plugins would be scanned and read. It's genuinely weird.

The previous version of the above plugins worked fine though. I believe that is not a problem with Avid however. I think it has to do with R2R this time, specifically these products. Other NUGEN R2Rs work wonderfully with PT 12.5 AU, especially the iLok ones, Paragon and Halo Series. Shame about MasterCheck and Visualizer, which are pretty useful. I'm forced to go back to the previous version atm.

these releases (apart for the iLok ones) are untouched on code level so i doubt that R2R has something to do with this problem... also, if the AAX was touched, I will have no luck running them on a legit PT...

Are you really complaining that R2R's latest release isn't backward compatible with a ten year old pirated DAW?

The AU plugin format stands for Audio Unit. It's Apple’s proprietary audio technology. More specifically, apple made the AU plugin format themselves. Therefore AU plugins are made to work with macOS specifically. The format is part of the Core Audio provided by macOS – the AU format is part of the macOS operating system!

With that said, other DAWs such as Ableton Live, Reaper, and Studio One can support AU plugins too. Not that I care just sayin'...

Why people not leave ProTools behind?
