When I start Cubase, the following error pops up. What went wrong, and what should I do to make it right? should I delete the file?

Apparently this is a conflict between VR and R2R's licencing methods. I would first try just deleting that thing (or moving it to somewhere else just in case), the prompt is coming from R2r license emulator, not Cubase itself, so it's safe to say that they know what they're asking.

Thank you very much. I just moved it somewhere.

I was informed that if R2R is installed, you go into C:\Windows\System32 and rename the wintrust.dll and that is believed to fix it. e.g. _winstrust.dll
Some sites say to delete it but that is irreversible if there are issues afterwards.

In Windows.... I always rename it with a different extension that gives a clue as to why it was renamed, or where it came from.
For example: "Wintrust.dll.VR" or "Wintrust.dll.OLD" or "Wintrust.dll.test" etc.
This keeps the file located close to where it was, alphanumerically, and includes the original extension as well..
If adding or changing characters at the beginning, some may have trouble locating it afterwards.
