Like Giles said, he's not destroying anything from the original, so the 'modernized' versions is just an alternative.
Granted, separating the tracks like that will indeed lose something both musically and "spiritually," but it could still be an interesting take. I say that because I think there's something unique about mixing a song with all the musicians in the room as opposed to everybody doing their parts separately--both back then and today. There's a certain *feel* to it. No different than mixing a drum set with bleed, and mixing it with every part pristinely separated. It sounds "perfect," but there's a little something missing.

I don't know about AI destroying the Beatles, but Mark David Chapman destroyed 1/4 of them!

Never misses a chance to steer a buck into his pocket that one.

I guess Botox and plastic surgeons are expensive and he needs more money.

Only time will tell if the result is entertaining or not, but he going to squeeze every drop out of that stone before he puts it away.

I don't know if PMcC needs the money, and he seems to be a fairly levelheaded dude in interviews etc. But it's like Waters wanting new stuff out for money (I don't think Waters is a levelheaded dude, he's a looney).

But if Ringo gets something out of this I'm all for it! He is a cool dude.

It's going to be a sanitized modern take compared to originals I'm guessing. I mean he's got Lynne working on it and all.

But I really like "Free As A Bird" even though it sounds rough in places.

It brings more detail, but also the alienation of sound sources (like a patchwork of sounds).
Very old tape recordings like "Revolver" are not suitable for remixing because of great sound degradation due to passage of time (demagnetization). So there's a lot of wave shaping used, making the sound unnatural to sensitive ear.
In 2020 remaster I also do not approve of heavy compression and limiting used - which have nothing to do with the original recording.

I agree, excessive processing would ruin the originals. And has made more than a few remasters just bad. I think a record is a document of it's time, and I'd prefer only very light tweaking making transfer to a new medium possible.

But I think whoever owns the catalog now (Sony?) would be in their right minds keeping the original masters in a good storage space, controlling for temperature and moisture. I'm sure there's a digital transfer already that was done as soon as it was possible. But doesn't negate the point, sure.

Perhaps it's a great song, but all I remember after reading the link was Paul McCartney shouting "I WANT MORE FUCKING MONEYYYY!!!"

Are you sure it wasn't Lennon?

They really should've got Peter Serafinowicz to do the retakes, actually...

If George Harrison thought the bootleg tape was a pile of shit, then why is McCartney persisting?

not been funny but didn't Paul die in a car crash when he stormed out of the Studio after some woman was grabbing him and he crashed and became Faul (Billy Shepherd). I did enjoy the Frog Chorus song when I was younger and Waterfalls is a lovely track
