That's a complicated setup, I hope you've factored in redundancy when it all breaks down mid-song. Also harder to fault-find, especially at a gig. I have a ton of stuff from my gigging days and I think if I was still working I would want to use it too but the more things that can go wrong means there's more chance of one thing going wrong and bringing down everything. So I probably wouldn't.

I always found that in a live situation effects pushed the sound to the back - I could never use reverb higher than around 5% for example, due to the room acoustics usually. Same with delays and choruses etc. It's probably a different situation if you have Pink Floyd's PA system. I get the amp switching though.

It all sounds like fun, good luck!

Of course Helix is good now. If you lived through Line6 history of amp modelling, from the day 1 of POD, shitty Spider amps line, with their price range, and you know what you are doing, you'll probably join the hate ship too back then. Their products only got better around 4-5 years after they introduced the Helix line, with competition around from Kemper and Fractal, their things constantly improving and they keep bringing in new good stuff. Helix were shite on release too, feels like a new casing for old tech.

ClaudeBalls suggestion of the Sound Sculpture Switchblade is a good one. Also, contact the Gig Rig guys. https://www.thegigrig.com. They might have a solution for you. Don't forget Dave Friedman and Tone Merchants in L.A. https://friedmanamplification.com. Don't know what they are still doing as far as racks but they will be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks for all the feedback and input, guys!

a_jesus: Yep, the radial is really good, but too expensive. And the morley doesn't do what i need.

claude: These look really promising, but it seems hard to find that sound sculpture stuff over here in europe, but yes, it sounds very interesting. And the other solution is so big, i have to think about that. Even more possibilities. Damned.

And crinkle has some very good points. I don't know how this will work/sound in a real gig situation, so it might be that i end up with the same simple setup like years ago, just with 2 or 3 pedals on top.

I guess, for now i stick with the voodoo switcher. Found a used one, let's see if i can get it.

If i think about it in the daylight, it's crazy to spent all that time and money for just being (today) a part-time musician, but if i recall, how much fun i had in the past weeks just by jamming with all this gear, and testing all setups, and how much inspiration i got from it ... then WOW!

I really can't wait to get all this together, find a suitable band, and let it all out!
