playing around with a doodle from the other evening whilst watching it rain yet again

 

I hope you don't get offended when i tell you this, it sounds good sounds like it came out of a retro sega mega/gen game

 

Well I never played with any saga/nintendo games , but reminds me a bit of some early 70's/80's synth pop. A couple of songs spring to mind "Pop Corn" (hence "pop" in the song title) and "Mamagamma".

and I haven't heard those songs in years, strange how a little song/melody can suddenly pop up in your head

The melody parts needs some structure though, they're a bit all over the place, but I've only spent a couple of hours so far on it. Another song to go into the "To Finish Folder"
