Haha, yeah, I noticed the audio as well. I just don't like the video size, and their selection is pretty ass, really. One of the reasons that I liked RARBG was because it brought new stuff to my attention, some coming-of-age Comedy from Canada, a Romance flic from Korea, an Action movie from China, or an old 70's gore-fest with an almost laughable amount of naked females from... of course, Italy. Also, I've never found any site that could touch RARBG as far as people uploading webrips of documentaries from independent filmmakers to National Geographic.

As for the h265, I'm not sure if my point got lost or not, but I was comparing h265 vs h264; essentially, the h265 has the same quality as a h264 with a reduced size, that's all. Besides my own exHDs, my buddy kicks me down his "old" ones as well (which aren't really use-used, he just gets paranoid,) so I have... hell... 16TB+ of movies and shows. Not the largest collection, but solid; I'm just not a fan of having to pay for seventeen streaming services plus regular "television" to get the wide array of genres, both movies and shows, that I enjoy. :dunno:

the biggest loss for me is 0 day xxx and the TV shows. RARBG always has the 2160p copy of a XXX mp4 upload and I have yet to find them on other sites (1080p sure, but lucky if its not encoded). As for TV shows they have their x265 encodes everyone uses, but I personally prefer the x264 rips that appeared immediately after showing, and the NTB rips after for archiving. Feeling this loss hard

    yes, these are very hard times for warez industry, but there is hope;
although that hope is not based on good life ahead.

Usenet. Maybe oldschool, but no loss whatsoever. Or go DDL.

This used to be the way I did everrrrything... going back to when I had dial up. I haven't done it in a while though, just because searching for stuff became a bit of a chore.. needed to pay for search page.. need to pay for usenet server. Not the cheapest way.

I may have to go back to this though.

Usenet get DMCA'ed as well. You can retrieve the header of the article you are looking for but unfortunately, you will find later that the body of the message has been wiped out.

Man I am going to totally miss their X265 content - and they had a lot of obscure music documentaries as well - in high resolution which was amazing! Any recommendations for an alternative with such breadth and focus on quality? Grateful for any help (PM if you can't comment here)

I almost grew up with rarbg I think I was downloading since 2013 from rarbg in 2015 Stephen Colbert became hot and I was downloading all the episodes since then now I'm pissed.
Writers on strike since 2nd of may so there will be no more Stephen Colbert shows, Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live, John Oliver
And now this...my fav site shuts down I don't know any sites which will have all my fav american tv shows and premium full UFC fights for free etc
    Really annoying:unsure:

RARBG was great. However used it less and less (and other sites of its kind) as time moves forward due to the PURE and Bonafide garbage coming out of hollywave anymore. There's really hardly anything worth making a download anymore let alone going to a theatre and paying out the ass for the samey-same shit and garbage. You maybe get like one or two good features out of 100 total garbage ones in any given year anymore - those are pretty crappy stats on ANY playing field. And this is what the mpaa is protecting -

craiq ferguson (late late show) was the only commercial tv show worth getting IMO, and he quit back a few years ago now... (cbs care's :) They replaced craigyferg's show with that complete wanker chubby english dude - don't even remember his name. Complete shite.

People dead, people longterm ill, people warring on both sides, datacenter prices up, while paying for the privilege of giving away for free with nothing coming back in...
It is sad a long-term site with one of the best local site search engines is gone, but nobody can blame anyone for shutting down under those circumstances.

Why not just subscribe to all of the streaming channels? It wouldn't cost much more than around $400 a month. I could set up a gofundme and then subscribe to them all to do a feasibility study over a year or two (might need longer). Who's in?

I do have an inordinately large pile of money that keeps cascading out my walk-in closet every time I open the door... I mean, it's not so much that it'd be *impossible to throw the entirety of it at blackjack & hookers, but who's got the time? :dunno:

FIY reddit seems to be forcing the removal of third party reddit apps based on a paywall .

so if you use reddit is fun you may be out of luck come july first and everybody will be forced to use the proprietary reddit app for phones and tablets.

also if you go to r/trees it isnt about trees at all in that context

    1) connect to a vpn server located in america
    2) put the name of a movie and the word download into a search engine
    3) scroll down until you get a message saying "some links were hidden due to dmca copyright blah blah, you can see the original complaint here"
    4) click on the complaint and it will list websites hosting the movie
    5) disconnect from the american vpn server
Don't actually do this to find illegal movies though, that would be wrong and bad and so on.
