Fuck. There goes my site for movies hah. Was in the process of 'upgrading' everything to the new 4K/DDP releases. RARBG saved me tons of time a year or so ago from ripping my entire DVD collection to make our Plex server at home. Gonna miss those x265 1080p rips!

1337x for movies/tv.. I thought rarbg was better, but it's something.

Fitgirl repacks for video games (I only say that for games because the releases there are guaranteed to be clean of any viruses and such, but your risk on 1337x).

 

never liked rarbg and 1337 releases (sure its ok for the ones looking for small size films just see and delete but i like
my movies in uncompressed 1080p and higher )....( compressing movies was a thing back in 2000 but i guess people still on modem in 2023 )

been using it since 2007-08 for TV Series I guess. I remember I found it because I was looking to watch the series Heroes because I fed up with the Rapidshare download that usually comes in small pieces and all the hassle with queuing them with errors and whatnot, one corrupted parts, you have to download everything again. Torrent was really dangerous back then with too much phishing sites, virus and whatnot but RARBG somehow saved the torrent scene for TV Series and Movies. Sad to see them go. Their x265 was epic.

 

Hey I've found RARBG for Heroes too! And my last download was John Wick 4 just like one other member in this thread.
Guess if Chuck Norris didn't end it, John Wick did.

Jokes aside... ION10, RARBG and x265 releases were perfect for quick download and quality. Sad to see that place gone now

I think there's a bunch of people over on reddit currently rebuilding the torrent database from rarbg based on previously downloaded content. They said they have every tv show and most movies now. These 300k magnet links came from one guy alone. Some people really love archiving internet content

Yup, I had a nice batch of about twenty movies, the last one finished up and I went to double-check their site for the language listed for a flic, and it was gone—just under the wire... I mean... that's would have happened if I "borrowed" movies online.
Seriously, it's a loss.
I agree completely with the h265 flics they were releasing, they were perfect. All you see elsewhere are people using HEVC to knock down the size of 88GB copy of Flashdance or The Bodyguard (or some movie equally undeserving of an 11k copy,) to 66GB, leaving people who collect logically-sized, but still quality movies, out in the cold. People keep trying to make the case that h265 only saves you about 20-30% size-wise, but when you have an a couple 4TBs full of movies... well, do the math.

RARBG are already missed. This was the scene on another torrent site some while later:

Non-RARBG Site: *only result* "Lash of the Scorpion (2006) DVDrip [erotic]"

 

Agreed on the TV shows—I've found some obscure stuff on there—but it's kinda mediocre for movies up against some other sites (though, the movies on 1337x are usually a better array of quality in general, as opposed to YIFY's post-cessor, YTS or similar sites,) and a complete disappointment compared to RARBG.

 

For people looking into replacements and/or getting into sailing the high seas, do check these resources and don't be afraid to ask. There's nasty shit like fake sites and fake uploads so you need to work out who to trust. For instance, if someone recommends XYZ then at least check the right URL from the lists below.

Joking aside, RARBG was great for a lot of things and audio stuff, too. It will be greatly, sorely missed. This terrible decade started off really bad and the badness just keeps escalating...

 

thats becuase this future world we have been thrusted into sucks ass and is intolerable to be apart of. I remember camping as a kid in 2001 we had a satellite gps thing for the canoe trip... Now our bullshit ass propaganda machines we call phones require cell service to get gps locations - and we almost got lost getting thru Utah mountains. FUCK THE FUTURE, IT SUCKS BALLS!!!!
