Hi,
unusual question...
I tried several versions of of R2R and bobdule releases and always had issues.
Now got a budget Maschine MK2 with license and option to upgrade to Kontakt Komplete Standard.
And I want to use this set without any restricions and workarounds and update issues.
But - Kontakt not starting and Reaktor / Guitar Rig 6 are showing the X at start.
Any chance to cleanup my Win10 to get this running?
Tried NI reg cleaner and already registerd .NICNT to Kontakt 7 - but not sure if this is correct.
All info I found here point to service center - but we are in the age of Native Access.
Any ideas welcome!

Unless you plan on buying a bunch of legit content, there is almost no reason or upside to doing this. With NI, the updating etc. is close to never-ending anyway; even for their "legit" users. New content (like Kontakt libraries) gets released, and almost every time there is a new version available, it becomes "the minimum required version". Like a version number arms race.

after reading some more threads here - and found that legit Kontakt 7 and bobdule Kontakt 6.7.1 work in parallel installation - installed bobdule 6.7.1 -> also shows the X at startup.
any hints?

Sometimes bundled/lite/free versions aren't accepted as qualifying for a deal. If the version you got qualifies, K7 upgrade is only 50 bucks.

installing them side by side should not be that tricky if people have posted that it works. (i'm on mac). The problem will arise when released libraries all start requiring K7, though. Then you will have to maybe decide to keep legit or scene k7.

 

My Problem seems to be only for new products. Maybe some leftovers form my try to bring the R2R release to work.
Kontakt 7 portable works. So no Win10 related issues.
Anyone else had this red circle with an X in it on start-up? Maybe there is a specific name for this issue I haven't seen so far...

legit products need legit serials added in native access.
the R2R keygened serial will never match to your user account.
it don't works this way.
but you can share the original iso and updates with us now.

i sended you a revised Kontakt 6.7.1 to check.
it should be more legit friendly
the activation read license serial, player, keygened, or more. the license bypass is not made.
and the NativeAccess.xml bypass is also not made. it should load better with the actual structure.

it show's up with the original and the special version that you sent me - directly after replacing vst3/exe/dll.
also see this with reaktor 6 (legit).
other standalone can be opened (Maschine 2 / Kontakt Komplete / Massvie) but cannot use the NI instruments/libraries.

I have legit upgrade licence from Komplete Select with Maschine to Komplete 14 standard.
but most of the standalone apps show the above error window. Kontakt 7 is exiting without any message.

 

try this
uninstall kontakt with 3rd party installation manager.
then find and delete these files:

I'm not sure about path on windows, but for macos path is:
/Users/Shared/Native Instruments/Native Access/ras3

reboot (after uninstallation process some files may be blocked, these files can be removed without reboot).
now run nativeaccess and try to install kontakt.

in case of any errors - read deamon.log

First tried the above - already answered - but the post went to nowhere... - and it didn't helped...

Reactivated my old PC (also Win10) which never had some NI software on it.
Installed NA - and so far all is running on this old box - but clearly extreme slow and not usable.
Tried Kontakt 7 - Reaktor 6 - Maschine 2 - Battery 4 - some smaller libraries - All Ok standalone - had no time to check if they work in DAW - because of diskspace and performance...

What is strange - I see the same error message in daemon.log - but the APPs work - so it seems not to be licence related

In the meantime I uninstalled everything I found from NI on the new PC
- removing from REG (.../Software/Native Instruments)
- removed programs/NI
- ... program-data/NI
- ... appdata/NI
- ... public folder/NI
- ... only thing I missed was documents/NI -
reinstall NA - installed Kontakt 7 - Battery 4 - same as before - but now Kontakt 7 is also showing the X in the rod button (instead of nothing).

Any ideas what else I could clean on the new PC - to get this flying...

I am also on mac, but these kinds of problems are frequently solved on Windows using Revo Uninstaller. It hunts down hard to find junk files left from old installation, registry entries, etc.

Yes - installed via native access.
Now I uninstalled everything from NI with revo uninstaller and after reboot cleaned invalid registry entries with avast cleaner.
moved all NI staff I found on HDD to a backup folder - again rebooted and started from scratch.
first installed Kontakt 6 player and a small library (vintage organs) -> worked
installed Kontakt 7 -> worked
exit Kontakt 7 and start again -> nothing - no error just exits on startup.
start Kontakt 6 player -> again the red button with the X
frustrating...
the "Invalid product type" messages are still there - but as said - seeing it also on old PC where everything seemed to work - but now I realiesed when I try to open an instrument/preset in Kontakt 7 it hangs (cpu loop) - waited 15min. - never comes back.
working with computers for decades - this is one of the most strange things ever seen...

 

you mean upgrade to komplete standard, right? =) and now you have a licensed of komplete standard?

this error window looks like standart error message like "program can't start"...

both versions working only once after intallation.
sometimes on my old desktop with 2 gb ram and x86 windows 7 I closed kontakt window, but kontakt continue working as process. killing process with task manager solve this problem. maybe it's the same problem?

yes - Komplete 14 Standard is showing up on my NI account.
Native Access shows 144 items to install - so this seems to be Ok.

I assume "programm can't start" is correct - but nothing about the reason...

No processes running - and my new PC has 32Gig - should not be an issue.
It even is not starting after reboot - really only once after complete cleaning and new installation.
