    Just dropping in my few cents here.

    I dont think that we invented music, music was already there and will always be there, We just created tools to interpret and express what we feel musical, harmonious and rhythmic, we made methods to express our emotions.

    As for music, its just everywhere, we are just here to experience it for short while and we are gone. Just like the "tree falling in the forest" thought experiment.
