It seems that Sampletank 3 will be available soon so i was wondering if any of you is interested in this. I personally never liked the version 2 or 2.5 but maybe this new version will worth a chance.

Feature-wise (according to the video), what do you think... it seems a good competitor against Halion Sonic 2? Or even better?

P.S. It was already exposed at NAMM14.

    Here and there.
I've tested all of IK Multimedia products and I can say for me that only some effect Plug-Ins are interesting. Their Instruments line isn't good at all for me, too complicated, tons of samples needed etc. Sampletank 2.5 didn't sound in any way special to me. So I'll keep on using other existing stuff, also because the "new" thingies always require the newest updated setup. Nowadays even Kontakt libraries require the newest available Kontakt, which is really an annoying story!

Yea', that's my reason why i never liked the previous versions of the Sampletank, but i was curious in this new version, because they mention the fact that they recorded/created all the patches from scratch which should be a improvement overall, that's why i'm a bit curious how it will stand up against other similar libs like Halion Sonic 2.

they took so long to drop it i forgot they even mattered. i wont say it will be a waste but with kontakt around and such its more like a want in my list so i dont think ill be getting it and i do enjoy sampletank 2.5 but i think there soo many things out there that emulate well that its more of a want for me.

Looking forward to ST3! I had SampleTron, SampleMoog, and Miroslav Philharmonik, and they have many useful sounds along with what ST brings… :grooves:

Ahh sapmletank back for round 3 lol, I wish steinberg would get rid of halionsonic its a pretty pointless product, halion 5 on the other hand blows this out of the water. Ill have to get some hands on time with sampletank 3 but what I've heard so far is not that impressive.

Mehhh. I had almost every IK synth, lost them using up all of the activations on new computers. Wasn't mad at all.

I watched Jordan Rudess demo Sampletank 3. The Grand Piano sounded good...... but then Jordan Rudess makes almost everything sound good. We'll see very soon what this will bring.

i think sampletank is a bomb full of good sounds, i have collected since 2005 over 25gb with expansions, very execellent sound, but the GUI was shit, i hope the new GUI is like refx nexus and should be able to import all old libraries and expansions

Well i dont know if gonna use them himself?
To me he seems like a guy that do ads for everything just so he can have some xtra cash.
I have seen alot of thing he do ads for and then when i see live footage or watch any of my live videos of him with DT i cant see that thing at all on stage.
Maybe he uses them only in the studio or in sideprojects (well most of the things he do ads for is made for "dance music" and that is NOT what DT plays)

I´ve seen alot of famouse guitarists do the same do ads in magazines and on internet for guitars and amps they would never use.

Jordan Rudess really does some amazing things with demos. My experience is that he and his folks are very kind and not worried about the money. I asked permission to use one of his midis as a demo for a freebie I did with the clear understanding that I couldn't pay. The response in less than 24 hours was feel free and enjoy. My guess is half or more of my downloads were a direct result of this demo.
Closer to topic, ST 2.5 is a strange beast it seems to create somewhat synthy and large but very smooth instruments versus kontakt 5 when using the same samples. The bits I've heard of ST 3 demos and the android types pianos they've done that derive from the same samples seem more realistic than the ST 2.5 ones. I rather like them based on just these demos, but on the other hand they are packing a lot of instruments into 30 gigs. How high a quality can the individual instruments be?
