Yes, the Apogee plugins are good. But so are many others, including UA, who were at the forefront of analog modelling vintage classic hardware and are still excellent at it. But today, there are many native alternatives that can do a great job too. And if you're not interested in the vintage analog hardware, other devs like Fabfilter offer modern tools that aren't emulating old vintage gear - there's plenty of choice.

We have it so good today, that if your mix or music sucks, it's *never* the plugins, and really what you use doesn't matter, as long as they work for you and like the results.

I agree, but regarding the personal jab I sense there.
I never said my mixes suck or that I have to use FabFilter to make them sound good.
The specifics of my own music dictate usage of digital precision tools over analog modelled solutions, but when it comes to mixing recorded music - I'm feeling comfortable with anything I don't have to actively fight. You can open the spolier in my signature, for example, and put your doubts to rest.
I'm not gonna discuss UAD or even worse companies any longer.

Well, well, looks like someone's got a lot to say without much to back it up. It's interesting how you're quick to dismiss widely recognized plugins and resort to insults rather than providing substantial arguments. "I tried them once and they were shit," is not an argument. YOu know, you can use UAD, waves and Fabfilter plugins all at once in one session

No, you've mistaken a general comment as directed at your personally. It's the general "you", ie meaning "everybody".

Any of you, thousands of Valhalla reverbs, who of you guys have grammy, like Adele with her voice processed by Valhalla reverb? :D
Imho it is Adele, voice, production, promotion.... Not plugins, not endorsement

I'm fully aware of that. However, it seems you might have missed the memo about maintaining a polite and respectful tone in a forum setting. Insulting others is not productive or conducive to constructive discussions.
What I mentioned earlier wasn't aimed at you personally, but at folks in general who seem to have a strong dislike for plugins.

I agree with you on what you mean, however the example chosen was the most wrong. Valhalla reverbs are on pretty much 95% of all hits and charts from the last 7-8 years ahaha

Whenever he bakes up a cake mix his secret weapon and go-to is vanilla suger. That's why Dave Pensado is overweight...he can't get enough of the sweet stuff. You can read about in the upcoming August cover story of Sound On Sound magazine where he also talks about Waves plugins.

Quite a few of them have Factory Presets with his name on them. Then in that MWTM, says he is using DMG Limitless anyway.

I don't mean it in a negative way; but these guys hawking products, even in "tutorials" is nothing new. In some cases, you may even see pre-processed material used, and the results credited to a different plugin they are pitching. It's not a big surprise.
