is there any videos proving reaper has same editing abilities as studio one, logic and pro tools?

So if you have 44.1khz or 48khz resolution of your audio, what benefit will you get from 192k resolution for the automation? Obviously, I don't know, but in my mind, it does not make much sense, because you would make changes in between a sample, so how would you be able to benefit from that? There should not be an audible change because there is no way for the audio to change in between samples, or am I wrong? Isn't a sample the smallest unit that will be calculated, so any change in between should be lost? If you have 192khz audio, a 192k resolution does make sense, but other than that, I don't understand why a resolution that is bigger than the resolution of the actual audio would be helpful?
It might be even half the resolution of the audio, because it is only half the amount of samples per channel.

Prove what? Ask what do you want to know and people will try their best to answer you, no one has any idea what are the "things people rage about REAPER", you're sounding like an old man shouting at the birds in the park.

No one said REAPER is the only daw, you're just searching for an argument with REAPER users for no reason.

Then use Logic, no one is forcing you to use REAPER, no one cares, really.

No one cares about your nitpick, and specially no one cares about the DUC forum (whatever that is) have you watched the other videos in the series? Spoiler alert: Pro Tools can also be highly inaccurate. Spoiler alert 2: no one cares if it is and no one will stop using it.

Nothing is wrong with what you said besides a few points here and there, the problem is that you're not willing to learn anything about REAPER to take your own conclusions, your turned this whole thing into a crusade against REAPER and its users for no reason, which is ridiculous and beyond the point.

Oh we are not speaking about music?ok, then I have nothing to say. I am only a musician and a composer (who also work making music for movies) sorry.

It seems to me that you want to prove something, not really looking for info...
You should keep using PT it's certainly the best (for you)...

Some things are not clear to me:
    - what is that 192k resolution in PT you're talking about and where did you find a different number for Reaper? I've searched for it in some PT manuals and got 0 hits...
    - what exactly is the problem in theory and practice (which is not already covered by the linked vids in this thread)?
    - how did you (or your friend) manage to let the nodes snap to the 'wrong' grid in Reaper? Never happened here and I'm using a bunch of automations. When you right-click on the tilted horseshoe symbol you can activate Grip snap settings follow visibility. And since you can change the visible grid on the fly with a key command, you can always see where a node will snap to. Easy-peasy.

kennymania.com and reaper.blog are your friends when you need an advice or a short tutorial.

P.S. Everyone should use the OS and DAW with which he/she has the most problems. :winker:

Prior to this comment I thought this was just more trolling by Foster. After reading this bullshit, I am now leaning more towards user "Mike Hunt" instead.

"only XYZ product is good enough for me! I'm So experienced and Knowledgable." Gaslighting. It's also very easy to tell you don't know wtf you are even talking about. No matter what industry you are involved with, Professionals do not write ranting run-on sentences with 0 attempt at even simple punctuation.

    waste of time.

The OP said Reaper was sloppily coded?
Its from cockos, the same dev who brought us Winamp, Ninjam, and many others. Coded in C+, 14mb install, and will run from a flash drive. It is leaner on resources than all other DAWs and can handle much more processing and plugins than anything out there (including DSP DAWs). It gives you the option to run plugins in a separate process on a plugin by plugin basis.
Just because they haven't implemented a feature you want. They are very active on their forums and update quite regularly with suggestions from there. You are very mistaken.

Honestly, these posts always come off as "my DAW is better than your DAW". Just use whatever DAW floats your boat and works best for you. For me, Reaper has everything I absolutely need, at a price that's unbeatable. I'm not a Reaper salesman, and don't really care what DAW you use.

I mean, honestly, professionals have made music in a variety of DAWs, whether it's Pro Tools or Cubase, or Reaper, or what have you. If you can't work with a DAW, it's not because the DAW is bad.. but it may just simply be that it isn't the best tool for YOU.

Now that all said, is Reaper a pain in the ass to use.. it definitely can be! :rofl:It's also extremely customizable too, with a lot of extensions/etc. for making the program easier to work with.

But really though, like I said, just work with whatever DAW you want to work with.. if Reaper isn't the one for you, why bother? Are you not happy with whatever you're currently using?

I can agree. I put REAPER down from ver3 to ver5 because it was overwhelming at first. But once I wrapped my head around "you dont learn it, it learns you" I made it the DAW I've always wanted.
I use FLstudio and Ableton a lot when collaborating with other artists. The studio I work with uses studio one but logic before. I use reaper at home but am very competent with all the DAWs I mentioned. They all have their pros and cons but at the end of the day it's which one fits you the best really.

Lol. Sure. On paper, Reaper doesn't handle 192kHz. That doesn't stop Reaper from supporting 768kHz and up.

First of all welcome to Audio Sex! FYI I am a pro engineer and held a professorship at Capitol University to teach accredited recording studies. I have also worked doing audio post for film. I have worked in many pro studios on a variety of projects. I had been working in studios years before Pro Tools and MIDI were around. I am a 100 percenter, That means I can complete projects from an empty DAW to a finished master, including crafting a song, recording all instruments and vocals, mixing and mastering. I use a nice far field monitor system including a sub tuned to the room, and several near field monitors. I have spent thousands of hours on Pro Tools Systems and hundreds of hours on Reaper. I was in prostudios teaching when Pro Tools came out and was in the first batch of teachers approved by Digidesign to teach it. I was teaching years before MIDI was here also.

Just giving you a little of my history, MY CHALLENGE TO YOU: Prove to me how much better Pro Tools is than Reaper. This should be done with video. Feel free to edit your video with Reaper, it does that too.

Wow so a whole day, 3 pages of replies and the OP can't bother to go install the pretty much 'free' Reaper and see for himself?

Are you waiting for your handout and participation trophy too?

He's your usual overly entitled Kevin/Karen character that have desperate need to undermine other people, cause a scene in the meantime, end up embarrassing himself and all the usual stuff.

Well, if everyone would have simple analyzed this sentence alone, they would have easily seen that this whole thread is pointless dribble.

Exhibit A: "loose" instead of lose.
Exhibit B: They start by comparing Reaper to Pro Tools but then bring up Logic.
Exhibit C: The thread title is literally this software's vs that software, but then complains how the responses in the same thread sound exactly like the OP.
Exhibit D: The last sentence in the OP reads like, "Anyone know Les Pauls well enough to give an honest comparison against playing a Telecaster ?" If you've been playing guitar as long as you claim you have, then you have the ability to go Guitar Center and play one for and hour are two then, make your own assessments. Why you need the opinion of people with less experience than you?
Exhibit E: OP cannot capitalize, to save their life.

I obviously agree with you. But the reason why it is more accurately gaslighting/trolling is because someone with this intent always begins with an "innocent question or concern", and injects their "career", "expertise", etc. which supports their point, so they may portray themselves as an expert on the subject. Their opinion and statements being "valid" is predicated only on that lie being believed, or they do not even have a leg to stand on to make whatever BS statements. "i'm so good/overqualified and all this software is not good enough for my standards and endless talents. " What a martyr. Too transparent to even be amusing, just a waste of another username. The details don't even matter.

You are right. Reaper sucks. You should forget about it and never post another post regarding that crappy DAW.
And, if you are annoyed at people talking about Reaper, you might disconnect from the internet and never be bothered again.

fans always talk bull shit, they're fans, a kind of believer. most members here are not fans they are users and, as a user I will say that I don't care what software I use as long as I can get the results I want. I started with cubase atari in the mid 90s then quit computers, then I came back to use logik, then I trashed my mac for a pc and ableton, after some time I found that ableton didn't permit me to do what I wanted so I tried studio one..
Then I found Reaper. three years now and no desire to change. I haven't reached any limits in Reaper.
I tried ableton again for a few minutes when 11 became stable, it seemed a little like refucking that old girlfriend just to remember why it didn't work out so I kicked her out of the bedroom studio and erased the memory. Glory to Reaper!!
