Is there a plugin that can add mix width in the inverted pyramid frequencies shape?

Or even a good tutorial on tilting the M/S properly to get the pyramid balance?

You can use a standard tilt-EQ on the Sides channel (with a M/S EQ). Most common is using a highpass/lowcut to attenuate/cut the lows in the Sides.

Not entirely sure what you mean with "pyramid balance" though. Be more detailed in what you want to achieve.

If you mean mono lows and progressively wider towards the highs, check out Nugen monofilter

Thanks for the suggestions. They all look great, I'm spoilt for choice :)

Inverted pyramid I just mean mono at the bottom and really wide at the top. If you check other mixes in Metric A/B for example you can see that they generally have a pyramid shape and most have extremely wide high end.

My mixes tend to get wide lower down in different places so it feels too loud in the sides. The EQ shape is close enough, I have the dynamics and loudness, its just panning that I'm shit at

Panning is just half the story (literally). Panning is just volume difference between left and right speaker.

The Sides channel gets cancelled to silence when summing to mono. It's important to know, as the Mid and Sides complement each other. The Mid channel (where all the bass, kick, vocal and lead instruments) is also important to have balanced and "sounding good" in a single mono speaker. The Sides is the younger brother which is adding a "balanced width", which is supporting the "main"/bigger brother Mid channel.

It's preferred to achieve this balance (mono-compatibility and width) during mixing, and not in the mastering. If you do it too much in the mastering stage you alter the good/approved mix, essentially.

Any multiband imager to narrow the lows?

But you don't need a plugin for panning...
