is there any videos proving reaper has same editing abilities as studio one, logic and pro tools?

Pro Tools is good for certain things, as are all the other DAWs. People just have to find what works best for them and suits their workflow. The video you posted is interesting because it shows that some DAW makers struggle to code relatively simple mathematical functions, and it makes me wonder what the rest of their code looks like.

I was excited about it last year, then I had to struggle past the ugly GUI, some reaper fanatic told me to get a pro tools GUI which I already cant stand, I downloaded the files hoping it was true that reaper is the one stop DAW..but I could never figure out why the GUI files did nothing...then I searched on YouTube to see if this was true and no one actually had a better GUI or close to the the crappy pro tools one I got used to for editing...from there I only realised more and more reaper users are like PC users always criticising McDonalds, Macs and Canon cameras...I gave up cause my own comparisons with editing failed...as customisable as it gets I have yet seen a single Reaper video showing up how it can do the same job as pro tools, logic etc..I truly wish this guys but im not someone who wants time, this thread alone is all I can offer if a DAW cant at least show up like Studio ONE so far..after studio one I case Cubase seems to have the rank second place above Reaper..

please dont take all this the wrong way, I would not be here if I can use pro tools with out assertion errors which prevent me from with plugins...some might ask why bother with plugins if you can use a free pro tools with out them just to edit, well thats it, iam automating plugins. so please dont take it the wrong way, im not saying reaper sucks or anything like that...I see it as a rival to many daws.

not all people can pick and choose when it comes down to critical automation editing of effects..it seems to be the one thing Pro Tools has over every DAW and the one thing most DAWS over look, the rest of which you made your point on depends on the user needs..

ive used pro tools since PRO DECK and Logic since v2, I still have the astronaut book case logic was sold in, manual is German lol

Most of the big name producers use Pro Tools because it's an industry standard and the workflow is similar to the old analogue console days. Hobbyists didn't really take to it because of the cost factor, and DAW like Reaper make sense pricewise, because you can use it in trial mode infinitely if you really needed to.

Reaper is an amazing DAW that is extremely fair priced. I only moved from Reaper to Studio One 3 (at the time - and stayed as a SO user), because I had an awful time understanding midi editing in Reaper. Still, Reaper can do everything other DAWs do, and more, for a fraction of the price. And every DAW has a different workflow, but at the end of the day, they do the same work.

At this day and age, comparing DAWs is dumb. Tons of pros on YT who mastered their DAWs: Dan Worrall (Reaper),
White Sea Studio (Reaper), Dom Sigalas (Cubase), Gregor from Presonus (Studio One), In The Mix (FL Studio), and probably many, many more that you guys know and enjoy. I doubt they can't produce good results from their tools of trade.

Your hypothesis is in error. The question is similarities, differences & limitations of any DAW compared to another. You can also answer your own question(s) by simply using the software you are curious about across two or three projects. The following post sums it up really nicely:

Also...See if Kenny Gioia would be willing to answer your question as put. He is a longtime Pro Tools expert that is a Reaper guru.

Then there is someone like Fab DuPont who is also a longtime Pro Tools expert who, when given a project in another DAW format can efficiently finish the project in the DAW used originally.

Why impose limitations on yourself with such thoughts???

If you don't want to take the time & educate yourself on different DAW platforms, you are only to blame. Please don't come shedding crocidile tears because you are not getting the answer you want from a silly argument. 'nuff said??

Here I am editing automation at 44.1K Resolution in Reaper. Could edit at 48K. You can edit individual samples as high as your audio interface will allow, mine only goes up to 48K. In my case it is my hardware not my software that hit the limit. If your audio interface can go to 192K the GUI should adjust to it.

Just download Reaper and try to find the particular functionality you need, demo fully functional forever! Without need of any usb-dongles or pricy audio-cards.
Otherwise use Protoolz nobody will try to persuade or convince you to use the powerfull Reaper, make some effort yourself

I've used 5 DAWs in the last years and I currently sticked to 3 (Reaper, Bitwig and Renoise). There's absolutely nothing you can't achieve with Reaper in terms of editing. If there's a limitation you can probably solve it with either a script or a third party plugin (like RX), and if you can't solve it with Reaper and a third party plugin... well, you will have to create your own tool cuz you most probably won't find a way to achieve what you're looking for with already available tools.

...but, if you have an issue with Reaper, if you hate how it looks and is just not interested to begin with, by all means just let it rest. No one is forcing you to use it. And if anything you're helping us to keep Reaper a secret :)

I guess it depends on who you ask if things like this matters at all. If you mostly use automation for plug-in parameters, it doesn't matter because 99% of all plug-ins use smoothing algos anyways (so that you don't get volume jumps, cracks and pops when adjusting parameters).

Also, recording automation is dependent on your buffer rate, so if you have buffer set to 256 you can't get finer automation than 1 point every 256th sample (at least in Reaper, don't know about PT).

I've never had any problems with the resolution of automation envelopes in Reaper personally, but that's not to say that there aren't any. I only do recording and mixing (and sometimes mastering), so the editing itself is not my main use for Reaper. I use iZotope RX and Celemony Melodyne for that. You can easily link outside editors to Reaper so that you can open any media item in e.g RX10 with just a mouse click (or shortcut keys). You can even link other DAWs to Reaper.

You also have to keep in mind that the default Reaper config is just a suggested starting point. It's meant to be configured to your personal needs. It takes some time to do this, but it's so worth it.

There are instructions on how to set it up to mostly work like either PT, Cubase, S1 and other DAWs. You pretty much just have to download a config file that someone has made, and then install all scripts that they suggest.

the audio interface has nothing to do with the resolution of graphics or nodes, you have a fader that can be as close as SSL or Never faders is what you need when you are mixing on high end gear and can hear it, but if your home you basically can get away with 85% of the work done in bigger rooms with high end gear, the only difference is when you have access to higher end gear you can detect and fix things you cant hear on small home reference speakers...its kind of like image or video resolution, you have 8K video, see more but then need to bounce and translate this to a media the public can access..Mac now is 4k (sort off)...

I worked with Pro Tools and Logic in big rooms since the mid 90s, I know what DAWS can do, I also sat in rooms where producers knew ins and outs of Studio vision Pro, its copy cat Digital Performer, SONAR and more...nothin wrong with someone who sat in session paid by major labels looking for something to carry on Pro Tools editing tasks due to issues pro tools has loading plugins when the user folder is on a external drive..

BTW for those who wonder, you can indeed create a user on a internal drive, with a admin role..then drag drop copy it to an external drive or point to one there which will then load like its part of the system,...on anyone's m1-m2 Mac... nice way to protect yourself from Apple and AVID snooping around in real time.,, they can only obtain snapshots of your files if anything.

As for REAPER aka PC WINDOWS user world, its a great app, ive got sessions done on worse DAWS that came with consoles, but I have not seen a single video or it in action proving things people rage about REAPER..nothing..the guy who made those comparisons exposing flaws in daws that effect the work flow was great help, he compared reaper users to those PC nerds who spend all their lives customising their computer...only reaper is a DAW..and his videos help cause you will run into this when your editing high timed professionally locked in SPMPTE work, maybe you or most wont since we all dont have this at home...but when you do it sucks big time, even if you know your DAW cause to know a DAW is one thing and to know it cant do a professional or the job accurately in one area is another, its why I had pro tools just for editing critical stuff in the first place...the rest are all good for music production....some better then others. Logic is my choice, then for PC tended to use other stuff, Live is the worse with editing but great for fast arranging and performing live.

GO tell anyone on the DUC forum that reaper is better and they will patronise you, tell you that your dumb, and reaper fanatics claim it can do anything you customise it to do and the reason you cant get it to do anything is cause your dumb...welll, at least pro tools can do something accurately (editing nodes) what about reaper, anyone have a video comparing it cause the guy who did ranks it like #4

So what's wrong with what I said?
Im starting to dislike Reaper users cause it sounds like they are windows PC types who flair posts about PC vs Mac BS..dont blame me its what I read.

this is why I am asking the question, I use pro tools only to edit tidy nodes at its 192k editing resolution (not audio interface) the graphical audio resolution to edit..although its fears match high end $1500-$2000 faders on pro consoles accurately unlike Logic...I then return to logic after fixing vocals to get the dam songs or TV spots done.

the buffer does not effect editing nodes pro tools is 192K editing resolution regardless of you use 44.1 or 48hz audible resolution.

I tried to get reaper to work like pro tools just for one edit project, total fail, the fail has nothing to do with the flexibility with Reaper or DP or cubase....it has to do with the quality of the editing resolution, logic's worse then reaper but I know it so im fast in logic..the rest I cant say what's better or worse cause I dont use LIVE, CUBASE, STUDIO ONE, CAKEWALK or Fruity Loops.

I mention that I tried it in October using a m1 and 64bit Catalina Mac as well...the editing resolution is not at par with Pro Tools or Studio one from what im gathering now...better then logic but...for what I need it cant handle it, the only way for now is to switch to the user on my internal drive or work on edits that have no plugs on the channels., ive been talking about automation nodes and tight audio none destructive editing incase you guys lost me cause allot of people here jumped on the C vs Mac type thread but Reaper verses Pro Tools thing lol

So why would someone like you who worked at plane hanger insist he knows audio better then an engineer with 35 years of experience with outboard gear, post production experience (VOs for TV film spots) and music production....explain your meticulous analysis of audio engineering with reaper and how anything you said can convince me I missed something cause I laid out the facts to why this DAW is not even on the top 5 list options for me who uses Logic as the main DAW and Pro tools as an editing daw for critical situations, which come up once a month if at all a few months.

Every time I run into reaper fans since I tried it in October of last year ive been told to get the demo, learn it, and if it sucks its because I do, talk about a Catch 22, I should give you a guitar, put string size 14 on it and If it sucks its because you do..and no one who uses reaper has shown it can replace pro tools, I told you I wish it did cause i cant stand AVID., so go on, explain why I should drop pro tools now for reaper if Studio one blows it away according to people who did compare it in videos
