Problem with Acustica audio is you get a REALLY good sound (probably the best "in the box") BUT at the expanse of headaches.

I was an EARLY user (from Nebula 1).
I spend DAYS of my life getting the right settings on Nebula for compressors, playing with latency to reduce CPU spikes, profiles, skins ... a mess.

At the end, i only used ONE console instance on master bus. To glue everything.
And now i wonder if i will still use Acustica products at all.

I totally understand Acustica fanboys AND i totally understand ppl not wanting to fight against wrong decisions/implementation from Acustica.

To me, Acustica products are still very nice at MASTERING level.
Mixing/tracking with those products was a nightmare, and still to certain point.

    YES it sounds VERY good
YES Acustica products are a nightmare to use

I use the new Nebula libraries for tracking, it's more simple and sounds good.

    @tamere

I can't really tell one over the other.
One AlexB console, depending on material.

That's why i said Nebula is a gem at mastering level : so much color choice

I think it's kinda amazing how Acustica taps into a very successful market where they created the solution for a made-up issue. People really convinced themselves that they can only mix with the most faithful recreations of whatever hardware they can't have. I used to be like that, spending countless hours trying different SSL strips until I realized that no one who listens to my shit will notice the difference. Like dudes endlessly arguing which Juno emulation sounds more faithful to the original. Would be amazing if even 5% of your listeners could pick that apart.

I guess, if it works for you, great. But I can't really justify this atrocious GUI, resource usage and overall issues as if that's the only way to get a decent mix out.

Nebula adds weight and depth to recorded material for those who are looking for a classic sound. Given the choice, I personally like what Nebula does to individual tracks and on the master bus. I would prefer to own the actual hardware, but it's not really an option for me, so I have to settle for second best. You can also use Nebula preamp/line in with algo emulations, which gives you more options.

As a person who spent 3 years in the AA beta program I can say that this did goto beta. Unfortunately in beta AA has a firm release date and if the beta team needs more time they don't get it. We had some plugins with only 1 week beta time.... yes 1 week, so we did our best. I'm sure the beta team did the best they could with the time AA gave them, lol. For AA today it's all about the release date, and as the 6-7 bugs/issues users are having in the Gold 5 release shows, AA cares only about the bottom line. In the end we vote with our money.

That's what AA calls using Algorithmic technology inside their plugins to solve problems their dynamic convolution tech can't.

That's why i prefer to use Acustica tech for saturation.

You need to install and launch Aquarius desktop app and just see which of their pluggies are offered for trial. AFAIK, not all of them are for trial and there's no list to look it up.

They are, you just need to click on the full version (say, Gold5), and the trial will show up to the right in something like a recomended section of sorts.

I haven't tried every single AA plugin, but i have tried most of them and they all have trials, it's just kind of hidden for some reason.
